Thanks for your tax dollars, America.

I worked a 30-hour shift this last Sat-Sun. My shift consisted of ONE call, which from the time dispatched to the scene to the time cleared from scene took an hour. Twenty-nine hours of sleeping, massages, video games, studying, basketball and just plain cruising around San Francisco.

Again, thank you. I love my job.

That's an hour of work more than Kazilla did.

Kazilla 2008-11-05 10:35 AM

Whats more important is he has realized the great potential of you hardworking americans. The harder you work, the less we have to do ;). Keep it up.

He's an EMT though, kind of a LOT different.
Anyways my buddy Ian works 12 or 18 hour shifts and just plays WoW.

I'd rather my tax dollars be going towards your paycheck rather than funding the Iraq war/rebuilding process.

They should use our tax dollars to paint Obama's new house black.

Until you're indirectly/directly involved in someone's death.

Yep. Or he contracts a disease from a sputting popped artery. I seem to think it's not always as laid back as you make it seem, DFD :P. And at least you're actually doing something that helps people, not laying on your ass 24/7 (Kaz).

Btw,

Kaz, there's no endless honey pot. And there's also accountability. So I'd wipe that shit eating grin off your face and get a job.

Sweden has alchemists that transmute lead to gold. They don't count.

Sometimes it can be hard work, true. However it's the most rewarding thing I've ever done in my life.

And we are very careful not to contract diseases. If there's any chance of bodily fluid discharge whatsoever, we gown up, glove up and cover up (masks / respirators - depending on the situation and S&S, goggles, head gowns, etc). Somebody could be bleeding from a gunshot wound (gsw) and I wont touch them until I'm protected. We're no good to anyone dead or dying, so we take care of ourselves first.

Willkillforfood 2008-11-10 09:05 PM

But you'll just be dying over months or years!

DaFrigginDoctah 2008-11-12 10:15 AM

N3gative. Refer to last post. You have a greater chance at contracting a contagious disease than I do, actually. Proper BSI and knowledge on how pathogens work is key.

Willkillforfood 2008-11-12 07:03 PM

I shower myself with lethal doses of radiation daily to avoid contraacting a contagious disease. Duh.
