Keep warfare
 

I have to say, there's nothing quite as fun in warhammer as defending a keep with a group big enough to do the job. Sunday night, I answered the call to arms in defense of Avelorn. Unfortunately, by the time I arrived the keep was taken, so we fell back to Saphery. We held them off for about 5 minutes before they breached the outer gates. We fell back to the inner keep. We tried to keep them out, but they kept destroying our oil pot and eventually got in. We successfully held them off in the lord room untill the gates respawned, which meant no more reinforcements for them. All we had to do is mop up those remaining in the keep. I felt like a battlefield medic running back and forth keeping people up on the walls :D.

Sounds pretty sweet. How's the lag in situations like that?

Once we drew into the inner keep and everyone was close together, it was pretty bad, but combat is slower in Warhammer, and all rezzers can battle-rez. Once everyone is in the same room, I just turn my view to the ceiling and rely on the party windows.

We raided a keep a little while back when I was on my Chosen. I felt like we were storming the beeches of normandy (all the engineers would mount turrets are the top of this hill and snipe us as we waved them). We managed to get into the keep but trying to get all the way up proved too difficult, for 45 mins or more we attempted to raid the keep until everyone decided it was hopeless to continue. Man that so beats battlegrounds.. bah!

Indeed. I'd take an open RvR party over a scenario any day. It's just an issue of finding one when you want one. Hopefully, with the regional channels I'll find them more often. What they need, though, is a per-tier RvR channel so if I'm in Saphery (High Elf T3), someone in Badlands (Dwarf T3) can say they're organizing a keep raid and I'll see it.
