New Site Design - Thoughts?

That's the new design for my blog, which I'll be creating once my exams are over.

Here's the original design, which got boring quick.

Thoughts on the new one?

Btw, it will fill the whole screen, obviously, and look something like this in a browser (centred, for those who can't be bothered clicking and loading, or might have small monitors).

Very crisp and professional design, I'd say. The color scheme works well also. It'd be cool if you had an animation where the as a clown or something came out when you moused near a side and then the words were on you though :p. But I'm not sure how that'd look.

I prefer the new site layout over the old one, This one looks more professional. I would go with the new one. Hmm, Perhaps an Animated Banner or something to spice it up.

I love the icon with the afro.

Looks good. I would increase the left and right margins for most text areas by a few pixels. Also, Wingdings is underrated.

That it may be, Chruser, but few people can understand it. :rolleyes:

I think most of the margins are around 17 pixels... which is a very strange number. Could do with being 20px instead.

It'll take a while to load, depending on your internet speed - the host isn't particularly speedy, and everything is still in .png format.

Well I obviously dont think much of it, else I'd have used it on my site.

Talking about the site, the front page is 99% built! :D I just need to get the navigation in now, which I can do some other time.

Shame about the quality lost with gifs... I might try jpegs and see what that's like.

EDIT: Definite improvement!

I am sure this is a good thing but the icon was the first thing I looked at. I think I will now have nightmares about it though.
