Mitsubishi this weekend announced the Lancer Ralliart — the latest addition to the Lancer family. The car is powered by a new 2.0-liter DOHC MIVEC intercooled and turbocharged engine that develops an estimated 235 horsepower. The engine is mated to Mitsubishi's Twin Clutch-SST gearbox, featuring manual and automatic shift modes.

The Lancer Ralliart is positioned between the regular Lancer sedan and the new Evolution X. The car is visually distinguished by a more aggressively styled front bumper design, rear bumper cover, dual outlet muffler and a lightweight aluminum, ducted hood that delivers cooling air to the turbocharger.

The Lancer Ralliart's full-time 4WD driveline features Mitsubishi's Active Center Differential (ACD). The ACD unit employs an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch center differential, vectoring drive torque to the front and rear according to different driving conditions.

Available equipment and options to include: Recaro seats, HID headlights, 650 watt Rockford Fosgate 9-speaker audio system, Sirius satellite radio, power sunroof, and a 30 GB Hard Drive Navigation system.

A personal favorite of mine, looks the new Eclipse actually looks very much similar to this, being from the same family, I'm actually planning on getting a new lancer/eclipse when they're released after I pay off my current car :)

I actually like the EvoX (many people don't) and almost bought a 2008 lancer gts which is really a great buy, ended up going with a maxima though.

but yes that Ralliart looks very nice. Do you have an idea on pricing?

There are tons of guestimations being thrown around. I'd say lower 20's, for the base models, and of course they'll have the Lancer EVOlution, which will be mid 20's I'd say.

I love the EVO's as well, any year or model, you honestly can't go wrong. 2.0 Turbocharged motor with a huge turbo, AWD, you can launch amazingly in that car, and they look sweet. After my stratus is paid off i'm definately going the Turbo route, maybe even sooner with this car.

But i'd say around the 15-16 for basemodels, and mid 20's for the EVO.

Yes the turbocharger looks very nice and the new design rocks but there is no way you can get an Evo for mid 20's price. I'd say at least low 30's

One thing I don't like are the paddle shifters for the gear change. Think you can get a regular gear box with the EVO?

You know, i'm not entirely sure, I'm not that well educated in the EVO crowd, out of like every popular vehicle floating around I'm very limited when it comes to the evo.

But the paddleshifters, is it the fact you have to use them to shift that you don't like? Or do you want an Automatic? .. because these new paddleshifters are actually a few tenths of a second faster on your shifts than anybody can get with a regular 5/6speed.

I guess it's because it lacks the feel of driving a proper stick. And I think it'll take some time to get used to.

I guess it could work.

Oh yeah. I see what you're saying. I'd definately prefer a stick over those weird paddle shifters as well, I guess it would definately feel a lot different. I mean, I've got the sportronic shifter in my car which is fun in my Auto bouncing through the gears, but anything manual at this point would make things 100x better for the driving experience.
