SNES-Relived

I have been playing Street Fighter II Turbo when I can, along with Mario All-Stars. NBA Jam is actually pretty popular, and since I have a multi-tap we get some pretty good games going. I like actually having competition here for Street Fighter, because both of my brothers sucked at it. Ha. Do you guys play SNES?

Super Metroid, A Link to the Past, Super Mario World. Some of the godliest games ever made, I typically fire up Super Metroid at least once a year.

I'm almost constantly playing my SNES on and off. I never put it away.

Mine's in storage, I gotta get it when possible, I miss it so much.

HandOfHeaven 2007-10-27 11:10 PM

Currently playing Mario 3 from start to finish. Don't have too much time lately though.

Vault Dweller 2007-10-28 11:26 PM

I want to play 7th Saga again. That and Super Metroid. I gotta find my SNES.

!King_Amazon! 2007-10-28 11:29 PM

Super Metroid is most definitely in the running for best non-RPG game on the SNES. I'd say it probably wins.

Secret of Evermore is another good game people seem to never like for whatever reason. Probably my favorite or second favorite game of all time.

Vault Dweller 2007-10-28 11:33 PM

Good game, but I've played it recently. Think I liked Secret of Mana better.

!King_Amazon! 2007-10-28 11:49 PM

No way. Secret of Evermore has much better humor and is much less repetative than Secret of Mana.

Don't get me wrong, Secret of Mana is a decent enough game, but it could have been a lot better than it is.

I've been fucking desperately trying to beat Super Ghouls n' Ghosts for months, but I absolutely cannot finish the final level. Not with that shitty Goddess Bracelet, anyway. If the damn game would just let you access the final boss with Daggers, I would have flattened him by now.

I was replaying Secret of Mana with two of my buddies up until about a month ago. We lost the will to keep going towards the end.

I actually picked that game up on EBay several months back, meaning to finally finish it, and I haven't had the chance yet. I played almost all the way through it when I was a kid, but never beat it.

HandOfHeaven 2007-10-29 12:22 AM

I'm going to beat Mario's 1, 2, and 3 tomorrow because I have a day off.

Vault Dweller 2007-11-02 10:37 PM

7th Saga had a ridiculous difficulty curve at some points in the game. That put me off from beating it a couple of times. Out of all 16 bit games, though, I think I have the fondest memories of its soundtrack. Though that may be a tie with Chrono Trigger and Super Metroid.

Raziel 2007-11-02 11:38 PM

I very much considered it the hardest RPG ever made until I played through the actual Final Fantasy II a few years back. 7th Saga required an insane amount of grinding, but at least it used a normal experience system.
