State Police identified the driver as an 11-year-old juvenile and learned that his parents, 46-year-old Rodney Brown and 32-year-old Leona M. Calloway, allowed him to use the car to drive his disabled father around town for the last six months.
Not sure, but this might be my favorite part. Does Nawlins not have public transportation?

11 year olds can reach the pedals? Blocks taped to feet?

Piglia said the 11-year-old was charged with felony flight from an officer, driving without a license, reckless operation of a vehicle, speeding, passing on the shoulder and improper lane usage. The boy’s parents were charged with improper supervision of a minor and allowing an unlicensed minor to drive a vehicle.
Thats stupid. The kid is 11, he has reason technically but under the law he doesn't really know right from wrong. If he had murdered someone they wouldn't put him in prison.

Eh I've heard of children being tried as adults.

I forget what the circumstances were though.

It's usually in cases involving murder or grand larceny. I'd say he should never be allowed to get a license and his parents should have theirs revoked for being fucktards.

Eh, children slavishly obey their parents at that age, I'd probably be a bit easier on the kid, but the parents wouldn't get off so easily.

From what I can tell from the story it seemed like the kid got scared and didn't know what to do, thats why he parked at the restaurant to call his moms.
