New Music?
Any sites you guys go to, to look for new bands and songs. Just places to find ideas besides the mainstream radio shit but also the stuff you like.
I've been using Amazon lately. The "Users who liked this" feature isn't always right on, but it can lead you in interesting directions. It's also nice to be able to browse by genre.
Myspace usually has a music page they update with new and user rated music.
That's how I found out about Serj Tankians new solo project song "Empty Walls" .. very catch the more you listen to it... |
I just let other people tell me about a band, or send me the odd song, and then I'll, ahem, acquire the full album when it comes out.
Amazon sounds promising. I've actually been going good with the Itunes music for a resource and then just d.l via limewire.
Just wikipedia a band you like and it will usually list a band that sounds like the one you just searched. Not always, but sometimes.
Sweet, some one of them has the single releases for the band before it's being released. W/b btw.
I like punk rock, alternative shit like that. I go on Vans Warp Tour page and read about the bands that are touring and try to listen to that music since half of it is new each year. Other then that, i just check itunes music store and they usually have artists that are similar to the one you are browsing for

myspace is probably the best place to go look.

Last.fm or Pandora
*Weighs options*
Here we've got Grav with Last.fm or Pandora and over here . . . Silverjinx suggests Myspace. Hmmmm |
Wow, I have to say I just now checked out Last.fm and it seems great. Not only is the idea logical and convient the site is also very nice and above all standards of mine. I can't believe I haven't heard of this before, thx Grav.
Pandora's even better. Easier to use. |
