WoW expansion ..Confirmed?
Screw you too Volls :( ... Hmm, a "Confirmed" link is out, but there's no way this is legit, there's too many errors in it that just don't add up, looks legit though. Read up on it, decide for yourself, shit in less than 24hours we're going to know anyways.
http://www.blizzplanet.com/news/1563/ CONFIRMED - World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King For months, and almost daily in the past weeks I have been camping the US Patents and Trademarks Office website and the Legendary Pictures website. Around 3am, no updates had appeared. Early today Thursday at 6am EST, I searched through the Blizzard Entertainment copyrights page at US Patent and Trademark Office Website. It is official. The second expansion pack of World of Warcraft is titled: The title confirms the next expansion is based on the Northrend Continent. Fans who have neglected in purchasing the World of Warcraft RPG books from White Wolf Publishing (Arthaus) should seriously get a copy of the World of Warcraft RPG: Lands of Mystery released early on Q1 2006. The book contains never before seen lore and map of Northrend. The continent of Northrend is neatly divided in ten regions: Coldarra Crystalsong Forest Grizzly Hills Howling Fjord Icecrown Glacier Sholazar Basin The Borean Tundra The Dragonblight The Stormpeaks Zul'Drak A year ago, we added a summary page describing each region within Northrend and the Northrend map taken straight from the Lands of Mystery RPG Book. The question to ponder now is whether this new expansion pack will throw in the South Seas as well. The Burning Crusade contained Outland, Quel'Thalas (Ghostlands and Eversong Woods), and Azuremyst/Bloodmyst Isles (the Draenei starting location). Northrend seems to be quietly bigger than Outland, but then again, the South Seas only have five isles: Isle of Kezan, Zandalar Isle, Broken Isles, Plunder Isle and Tel Abim, besides Nazjatar (home of the Naga) deep below the Maelstrom. It is quiet possible some of those areas could make it in the expansion, and release others as major content patches throughout the year. The importance of the South Seas in the Northrend equation is that early whiteboard map designs showed Isle of Kezan (Undermine) as major transportation hub with zeppelin and boats going out to Ratchet, Booty Bay, Kul'Tiras and Valgarde (Howling Fjord's city in Northrend). This is no secret to fans who purchased the World of Warcraft Collector's Edition and watched the Behind the Scenes DVD with developer interviews and slideshows of concept art, where the early map designs showed Isle of Kezan and its transportation routes. Ex-Community Manager, Katricia, said at the offical forums on December 6, 2003 the following: Katricia: "I’m not sure which islands you are referring to so I’ll skip commenting on those at this time. The team does plan on including content for the Maelstrom and are exploring the best ways to do this." ~Kat :) We will have to wait until tomorrow when BlizzCon Convention kicks in revealing all about this expansion pack. Make sure to check out our BlizzCon Coverage section hourly for any updates from the net. A staff member of Blizzplanet is also going to the BlizzCon event to bring us the latest news. The United States Patent and Trademark Office says the following: Word Mark WRATH OF THE LICH KING Entertainment services, namely, providing online computer games; providing computer games that may be accessed via a global computer network; and providing online information in the field of computer gaming entertainment. There's a "confirmed" expansion link to "World of Warcraft: Into The Maelstrom" on IGN somewhere too, no one will know for sure which it'll be until this weekend.
|
Tomorrow I guess, just gotta wait for one more day :( .. Shit I bet they'll wait til the very end of the second day too to even announce anything .. bastards.
|
I pee on blizzard if thats the bullshit they are announcing. I don't consider WoW expansions worth anyones excitement anymore when it will be 95% the same game. Everyone knows what is coming with a WoW Ex pak but diablo 3 at least gives you some excitement of the unknown.

That's right those words just came out of my mouth.
|
Well, the announcement will be within the next few hours, hopefully, Blizzcon is already underway and the announcemnt of TWO titles is going to happen, can't wait, I really do hope it is Diablo 3, Fuck WoW they're getting way too much attention.
|
Well imo they really should be starting a WoW ex pak AND D3 at the same time. I give WoW 3 - 4 years before it really starts to deaden. So if you go by that they could have one more expak in about 1.5-2 years to keep the game limping on with hard core players. Meanwhile they could start their 3-4 year production of D3 which will come out right when WoW no longer has that great of player base and BOOM! Tough actin tinactin, 5-10 mil people back to blizz again.

Big Update, before the 3 o'clock news on the new game, MORE HOPE FOR D3!!!
WoW EXP II was confirmed officially at Blizzcon, the word is out. Here's a nice excerpt from IGN.com with notes and a timeline. Sounds great, only 20 more minutes until they unveil their next "big game" ?>... Damn, it's actually making work fun again! http://pc.ign.com/articles/810/810325p1.html August 3, 2007 - Editor's Note - The updates below are being updated live from BlizzCon 2007's show floor. Keep checking back for all the new information, screens, and video. 11:32 - And that's it! Pearce walks offstage, crowd gets up and shuffles off to hands-on setups, American Gladiatory-style duels with padded sticks, to browse the merchandise, or just to argue with each other over who's the most effective off-tank in their guild. 11:31 - Pearce now mentioning Wrath of the Lich King will be playable, as well as a number of panels that'll be discussing it. 11:29 - Showing video now. Presumably from Northrend. Shows one zone that's in a perpetual state of forest fire, dungeons with skulls breathing flame, snowy mountains, absolutely gigantic yeti. Nwo there's a human running through a green-tinted forest - Death Knight Hero class shown - he blasts out black and purple orbs of energy that smash into the ground. Final shot is of Arthas sitting on an ice throne. 11:28 - Level cap raised to 80. New skills for all classes. Siege weapons, and buildings that can be destroyed with those siege weapons. Inscription, a new profession, can permanently enhance character spells and abilities. Can mod hairstyles and dances. Northrend will have 5 man, 10 man, 25 man dungeons. Hundreds of new quests. Will include the Death Knight hero class. 11:26 - Announces officially The Wrach of the Lich King, the second expansion for WoW. Will introduce the area of Northrend, and will bring in Arthas. Arthas is going to threaten "all life on Azeroth"!! Oh noes! 11:25 - Referencing Zul'Aman, a new 10 man raid instance to be added in. Every single feature getting cheers from the crowd. Now the audience is screaming "go Horde!" 11:23 - Frank Pearce, another Blizzard co-founder is on stage. Starting to talk about Burning Crusade, saying the development team has been hard at work on "a lot of cool stuff." Mentions integrated voice chat. Says this might be a disappointing feature, as "that hot Night Elf chick might be a dude on the other end." Now talking about Guild Banks and how they'll improve guild organization. 11:21 - Talking about Terran race from SCII - Blizzard to reveal information on the single-player campaign in SCII. We'll have a full report and video later today and into tonight. 11:19 - The Terran marine is yet again fully armored and delivers his line, "Hell, it's about time." 11:17 - Blizzard's cinematics are unbelievable. Can't wait for the WoW movie, which we'll find out more about tomorrow at a panel discussion, and post whatever we hear in this update stream. 11:15 - Showing the StarCraft II cinematic trailer shown at WWI. It's on our site, so you can watch along. 11:14 - A bunch of StarCraft tournament footage from the show, more Korean ladies, some kind of musical act where people dance around in a rain of confetti, and finally fans saying they had a good time. The crowd here at BlizzCon approves by clapping. 11:13 - Now talking about Blizzard's Worldwide Invitational, showing video cut together from the show. Showing people signing StarCraft posters, scantily clad, smiling Korean ladies, keytars, footage from the show floor the moment StarCraft II was announced. Then, for some reason, breakdancing. 11:10 - Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftan will be playing, says Morhaime, which the crowd applauds heartily. 11:07 - Saying Blizzard is going to deliver some info on upcoming products, mentioning the competitive tournaments that are going on here and how they link into professional gaming league. There'll also be a costume dance and song contests. Starts at 7 PM. Hey, drinks and Blizzard costumes and Jay Mohr as the MC! That's about as weird as it gets! 11:06 - Now mentioning the record sales of The Burning Crusade, and how quickly Blizzcon sold out (3 days). 11:04 - Morheim is thanking fans, bragging about how popular WoW is, saying WoW's population is bigger than half the countries in the world. Thanking South Park for featuring their game, and wishing them luck with the Emmy nominated episode. 11:01 - An artist from WoW is onstage - calling out various classes that's having an effect on the crowd like a rockstar calling out cities. Mike Morheime, president and cofounder of Blizzard now onstage. 11:00 - The announcements continue - "Our program will begin shortly," says a soothing male voice as ambient music plays over the loudspeaker. 10:57 - Blizzard has everything sort of set up in the same hall. The main stage, which I'm sitting in front of right now, is actually in the same giant room as all the StarCraft II and World of Warcraft playable stations. They've got snack stations, displays with WoW figurines, board games, and a beer tent. I can't wait to go play SCII again and find vomit all over my keyboard, possibly with a disregarded pair of Night Elf ears. So far the strangest thing I've seen was one attendee in full-on epic Warlock gear. I can't remember offhand what tier it is. 10:56 - Another announcement - the opening ceremony is set to begin in five minutes. 10:52 AM PDT - Just posted a brief StarCraft II hands-on. An announcement over the PA system said the opening ceremony will begin in 10 minutes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
Feh, it actually IS Northrend. What a damn waste to rush into that.
|
Yep, basically.
If you listen though, right after they do the "official" WOW EXP II, they say right towards the end, "Well that's one of them out of the way" right before they tell everyone they can leave. There are alot of people NOW speculating that there could still be a Diablo announcement tomorrow during the big timeslot right before the concert and the end of the ceremony... I can only hope, but from this point in time, it's looking awfully doubtful :( |
That was a very weak trailer... I usually love the trailers they do but they didn't bother to do cinematics. It doesn't seem like the big deal it was when they announced TBC. You know if blizzard has something big planned they would wait till the last part of the 2nd day, its just their style.

I'm only semi excited atm mainly because I'm thinking of the two chars I'm going to have to lvl to 80 (maybe even 3, my lock may be 70 by release).
If this comes out anytime near the launch of warhammer though, I may not even get it (or I probably will but it will collect dust). |
Wrath of the Lich King
yawn yawn yawn From an Armory parser site, the Average Raid Guild has still not progressed past Magtheridon, and most Tier 5 guilds still haven't cleared SSC. That's not counting non-raiding guilds... Talk about wasted man-hours. I didn't think it was quite that bad, but there's pretty much hard evidence of it now, and that's skewed in favor of progression. |
now just to convince you to go chaos instead of order.... lol. Hopefully some Elve shit comes out soon.
|
/sigh
Warrior Priest is really the playstyle I would love to play in a PvP centered game, I hope the Dark Elves have something similar to it... |
