I'm getting Verizon Fiber Optic

-15 mb/s download speeds
-800 some channels including ondemand and playboy channel ;)
-They're estimating they will only be here for an hour or two
-Crazy game speeds
-My pages will load faster than anyone on Zelaron
-I'm not paying a dime

What's not to love?

Neat. Watch out for verizon, they will burn you.

Asamin 2007-04-06 08:10 PM

Why aren't you paying a dime??

Dar_Win 2007-04-06 08:11 PM

Landlord is getting it, I don't pay utilities.

WetWired 2007-04-06 08:15 PM

I've heard that the phone companys' fiber TV has issues, but that was months ago. Good luck.

Asamin 2007-04-06 08:21 PM

You are the single luckiest person!!
I can't imagin how fast Diablo LOD would run on that.

Grav 2007-04-06 08:22 PM

This fast ------> .

Lenny 2007-04-07 05:10 PM

You lucky bugger!!

And I thought upgrading from 2mb to 5mb was fast.

Enjoy it! And just hope that your landlord doesn't try to force you out - you'll never want to leave your apartment again! :p

Chruser 2007-04-07 06:07 PM

Very nice! The channel part sounds awesome too! But no, you won't load Zelaron faster than me. HAHAHA!

Mantralord 2007-04-07 08:46 PM

I get about 14 mbit down on my Comcast connection.

Dar_Win 2007-04-07 09:31 PM

Where is the server?

WetWired 2007-04-07 09:43 PM

How's that work? Every cable modem I've ever seen has 10-BaseT ethernet.

WetWired 2007-04-07 09:44 PM

Dallas.

Dar_Win 2007-04-07 10:22 PM

Then my page loading > Chrusers.....for sure.

Wait, WW you live in Dallas?

MightyJoe 2007-04-07 11:25 PM

Mine is supposedly up to 10, can't really see a need for faster than that though.

Willkillforfood 2007-04-08 01:07 AM

I remember when my 500 kilobytes a second was insanely fast =P.

In reality, about 30 Mbps downstream, 16 Mbps upstream. No transfer cap. Around $26/month.

Mantralord 2007-04-08 10:55 AM

except your ping times are european

WetWired 2007-04-08 11:08 AM

No, I don't live in Dallas. The server is in a datacenter in Dallas. When I went to drop off the server, I was surprised to find that the building is above ground and covered in glass windows...

Medieval Bob 2007-04-08 07:14 PM

Is the server at the Infomart by any chance?
