SD Mini Cards
Hey,
I have an SD mini card and when I go to format it under windows(xp), it will only recognize all 2gb, but only let me touch the first gig. I can see the otehr 1gb under windows own drive manager, but I can't do anything to it. Does anyone know anyway around this? |
Something fucked up with your card? Does another one work fine?
|
Hmm.. is it for a phone? I formatted mine through my LG XV8500 and all the available memory came up.
|
Well, it is for my phone adn I have the LGVX8100, so just an earlier model than yours Thanatos. Telus just got it over the summer and that is when I picked it up.
I've read on other places of people having the same problem. I mean, windows shows that the other 1gb is there, it just wont let me touch it. Partition magic doesnt seem to work at all, as in doesnt see it there... |
I didn't know you could format it through Windows XP. Stick it in your phone and locate the memory card menu. There will be an option thing where it says "format card"
That's what I did, anyway. |
Yea, that's what I did too, but it only formatted the first gig. Something about the phoen that it will only format the first gig but it will recognize 2gigs...I don't know why, it is just like that.

Sounds like you got a jank card.
|
well, what would you know it is Windows after all. That's what is jank and not my card.
I found a program that was made by panasonic(yes, odd) that worked perfectly. Allowed me to erase the whole card anf format it up to the 1.97gb(2gb) and it works fine now. Problem solved. |
