What's everyone use now?

i use to come to this forum all the time. everyone here used RM2K3.. but i just came back from a looooong absence. so do you guys use rpgmaker XP or still 2K3?

Lenny 2006-12-09 07:00 AM

Ooooh, 'ello!

I think that the old school members (me, BC, erm... yeah) and some of the newer members (Atnas, Noob21, and the others) use RM2K3.

Whereas nearly every poster that comes here new uses RMXP - they only use RM2K3 if they can't find XP anywhere.

You should be able to PM Bluecube and ask him for a download location. That's what I did when I couldn't find it anywhere. :)

Welcome back!

They're not dead. I just got it last week. Just google it. I started using Rm2k3 at first and then my older bro got me RmXP, but I didn't like it...was too confusing or something...and the tileset things were...weird...and...etc.

I use RM2K3 and a legal version of RMXP.

I'd buy the legal version of RM2K3 if they had it in english.

I've been using rm2k3 now for a good long while, just found this site so i joined like... too seconds ago lol

even tho RMXP seems to have more functions (This one really amazed me)... i fear change lol and with the scripting and the new chipsets and the big characters and the... um... scripting, i feel like its taken some of the character and charm away from RM2k and RM2k3, i dunno, maybe im wrong but RMXP seems evil lol

and on another note, i dont want to have to sit and learn a new way of game making threw the script editing, after spending near enough 3 years workin with RM2k/3 lol

and there you have it, my first post :D

I only use RM2K3. I like to make my own graphics, & it takes longer to make bigger characters. Also, I like the pre-programmed 'show face' option, showing faces in XP takes too long.

What? I'm not old enough to be old school? I've been here for a little over two years. Lol.

Edit: Oh yeah, happy belated birthday, Lenny.

Lenny 2007-01-10 05:24 AM

I forget names sometimes. Comes with age. :(

And thanks. :)

Atnas 2007-01-13 06:46 AM

I actaully preffer XP, and don't use anything else. I started with 2k3 because it could play .avi but... Well there's a way around everything in XP.

The only fault with XP in my eyes is lag when running tacked-on scripts. Other than that it truly is better than the rest, IMO.

Lenny 2007-01-13 10:49 AM

I need to get back into them both... and reinstall RM2K3 - all my sets have disappeared!!
