Rpg Team

I'm looking to put together a serious game making team for a game I have designed. I have the story completely done, have concept art, concept music, designs for the first few areas, etc.

I'm not looking for script kiddies but real game lovers with talent.

The game is an RPG with 2d sprites and 3d render backgrounds like Star Ocean 2. The playing style is more like Breath of Fire 2 though. The game will have still frame cutscenes also.

The biggest position I'm looking for is programmer, who must be able to put together a mostly 2d PSX with little help. Most statistical things like difficulty and such will be designed by the team as a whole.

Next I need an artist, or multiple artists. I'm looking for a 3d artist, and 2d artist, and a spritist.

I will do the music and most sound effects, and some sprites and some 3d art.

Like I said earlier, I designed the game, so any qualifing members will receive a design document (OMFG) with full plot synopsis.

This isn't some "Omfg, I haev game which I wannaz makez, but I hvae no storiez but i'llz dooz itsz" This is real, I have the plotline worked out, I have concept art, I've made 3d backgrounds for concept level designs, and I have concept sprites too. All the major characters/plot are already setup, so the team can drive right into making the game.

My first goal is to make a single player demo to the first boss.

If you are interested in the game, send me a resume of sorts, with your position applied for, some reference work, and a website with your stuff on it would be cool too. My e-mail is [email protected] and I hope to see some good talent go into a great independant game. Happy gaming!

Synopsis of the game:

This game is about 7-Keys.

The story is about 7 legendary keys that unlock a door hidden in a secret secluded mountain that holds the Legendary Angel Dust. This dust can either revive a dead person, or make a live person immortal. But 7 monsters of pure evil guard the keys. Anyway, our story starts in the town of Galnia. Our hero, Maajo Bairin has just returned from the "local" city where he got some supplies for his small village town (The elder requested it) and when he gets there, he finds the town in flames. He rushes in to find a small army ransacking the place, looking for information. Well, bah bah, they kill a few innocent civilians, and then Maajo finds his little sister Sanya on the ground, dying... well, she dies (go ahead, cry, no one's looking, or are they?) So Maajo goes to kill the head leader, who is called Camron, but the elder stops him. They hide away until the army leaves. They had been looking for info on the 7 keys. The elder said that he always thought it was a myth, but he saw Camron wearing one of the keys on his neck. He tells the legend to Maajo. He also says that one key may be hidden in a mountain range near the town, but no one had been stupid enough to go there because of harpies and rock slides and other stuff. Well, Maajo decides to go find the 7 keys and revive his sister. So this is the start of his journey, the Journey of the 7-keys (The beginning of the story)

This sounded really cool, and professional until I got to the plot of the game which sounds exactly like the plot of "Super Secret of Chrono Fantasy 4 RPG: Dinks Awakening"

Maybe you should post some of the concept art. I think the would draw some of the serious RPG Maker guys out. I'm not one of them, I'm just a moderator, and welcome to Zelaron.

It's your basic RPG storyline. Tried and tested, and it works, so it's used.

The problem with advertising for a game development team on here is, well, just read the other threads. The nearest we got to making our own game was with a guy called "Wed-G". Sadly we fell apart.

You can try if you want, though, and if you succeed then we'll know it can be done.

Sidelines eh, lenny?

I'm sorry, but I only work on projects I love. I don't think a silly little middleschooler like myself could possibly offer you much. I can sprite fairly decent, draw to match the pros, but I don't like the serious atmosphere you've set. I don't have a resume, and this isn't the site, I'm sorry, to get people to work on a project such as this. Try RMXP.org. DO NOT MENTION MY NAME OR GIVE ANY INCLINATION AS TO WHERE I AM POSTING. THEY WILL KILL ME.

I'm not going to lie, I'm leaving a lot out, and the plot doesn't just toss you all the secrets right off the bat. Trust me, there's substance.

The thing is, the plot isn't what you would expect unless I spoil it for you. So it starts out as "Final Dragon Secret Cave 2". You'd have to play it to get the plot, because I'm not telling anyone except my team. > :( And there's plenty of games with weak begginings but still make a good game, like Cave Story. Not exactly an rpg, but it's still fun.

I'm not saying the plot is bad, cliche is a good feeling.

KMDES 2006-09-05 06:07 PM

Yeah, I don't want to go balls to the walls on the team's first game expecting some FFX. If you don't overkill the game, it'll actually get done.

If I'm on no particular time constraint, I'll help out. I'll be busy with school and other projects, but I have a fairly decent RMXP backround. I can't give you a portfolio, persay, but I can do some artwork for you, and if you like it, I'm your man. Send me the info for this Maajo, such as physical description, through a pm please. I'll sketch him out for you and see if you like it.

You don't have any art currently made for anything? Maybe a deviant art site?

Atnas 2006-09-08 03:35 PM

I haven't put anything onto the web in a while. I've improved millions of times over from those peices, I'd rather not share them. Everyone I know says that I should get a Deviant Art, and hey, maybe I should?

So you can't PM me some of your work?

Lenny 2006-09-16 12:16 PM

Until you get 10 posts, no-one can PM you. Just one of those forum rules.

I think it was implemented because we had some idiots joining up and then spamming everyone with PMs.
