Privatize Dragoon Elite forum
 

Make it so that it cannot be seen by normal members unless people are part of a certain forum group. Whether it is by subscription or set by a mod doesn't matter to me. I mostly agree with this below convo:

Normally I would agree, but that's where the activity is at now days, and I would just be depressed if I hit new posts without the dragoons.

It's not really activity. It's a bunch of ADHD sheep who get really antsy whenever a wolf enters their section.

95% of the posts in that forum consist of one line.

100% of the posts in that forum are not worth reading.

Hey, it's never stopped you in the past from getting yourself blocked from viewing posts in Hosted Forums. It's happened to basically every other Forum that was annoying in the past.

Dragoon's are sustaining half the activity at Zelaron as of late, and there is still only 20 new threads a day anyway.. It's not like we make 20 new threads a day, we simply have a lot of spam, but it's all in a few different threads, so what's the problem?

Do you think that appeasing one person's opinion will be for the better of the community? If so, make the Dragoon's a private forum, I really don't care, I just don't see the point.

Yea, i cant believe that us posting in our own section is causing so much drama. You dont have to read it. Most of you complain about it but thats because Zelaron is becoming less and less active. Us dragoons keep it going, for a small part, and bring in new members daily. In teh last week, ive brought in 4 new members. But if it pleases everyone, then weill start posting more in our private section. But remember that the activity level of Z will go way down without us.

You obviously missed the point.

The point to this is to make the DE forum private so when we click "New Posts" we don't see 16-17 DE threads. They believe that without this, people will be more inclined to post in other forums. You guys are still more than welcome to post outside of your forums, but wouldn't you like it privatized? This way, the only people that can post in there are yourselves and you won't get the occasional Grav/KA flame that they throw in there sometimes.

It's a win/win situation.

Idea: New user group, similar to the no post count group. Except this usergroup will make Dragoon Elite disapear for yourself.

If that doesnt work, well stop being lazy. Jeeze! The time it takes to scroll past the DE Forum post when you click "New Post" is measured in nano seconds.

This is mainly an issue with GravitonSurge because we delete stupid post made by him in the Dragoon Elite section.

We fixed the Dragoon Elite problem internally. No need to do anything now.

I think you're missing the point too. Half of my friends on Live have come from networking here at Zelaron. If we were to make it a private forum, then no members, new members, etc. would know we exist. The purpose of our Forum isn't to only have the people we want posting there, but to expand it and give other members of Zelaron a chance to join in on our fun.

Also, we have for the most part fixed the problem you are thinking about. We usually have about 6-7 threads active in our forums, so it's not that big of a deal anyway. You guys are exaggerating the whole issue.

I mean, I hate all posts that aren't Dragoon, Gen Convo, Flame Forum, Forum Discussion, Gen Gaming, and maybe 2 other Forums. Does that mean I want to privatize the rest of the Forum? No? It means I simply don't read the topics in those other Forums. It's no worse than the Chat Forum. You guys are getting too caught up in seeing "Dragoon Elites" too much, and not realizing that it is no different than seeing "Computer Graphics" or any other Forum you don't like reading and just skipping over the message.

Some of us post meaningful posts in there...and if you don't want to see them, then you can do as SYG says and just scroll. Or do as I do and check each forum with the red arrow. I've never once used the New Posts button. I don't see the point. It's pretty clear whether there are new posts in a forum or not.

Oh, I totally understand what he is talking about, but I also know that just because one person started a bitching contest over something they don't like, doesn't mean that 8 or so active members from the Dragoon's should be ostracized from the rest of Zelaron.

I do agree with some points though, which is why we've already discussed it with the rest of the Dragoon's and we have remedied the situation. It shouldn't be an issue anymore. Yes, us Dragoon's work fast, and efficient! ;)

It's really interesting when people are so lazy that they wont go through the forums individually to find something they want to post on. Could you forget privatizing the Dragoon Elite forums and remove that tool from Zelaron? perhaps people will find a thread that hasn't been posted on that day and you know, find something that interests them that is a couple days old x_X.

C'mon now... That just makes too much sense! It's almost illogical to process at Zelaron!

This isn't me just bitching because I don't like the Dragoon Elites. It's true, I don't like them, and if that were my only reason behind the idea I'd say just remove them all together. My reasoning behind the idea is the fact that it's not so simple as just scrolling over the Dragoon Elites posts. They're almost all that we see. I greatly dislike posting in the Dragoon Elites forum, it's nothing but a big spamfest. Maybe you remember back in the day when I was a big spammer, I have no problem with spam at all. The problem is that the entire forum is a big ball of spam. The forum itself has very little useful content, at least not to someone that isn't one of the dragoon elites. I understand that it's just a bunch of people that like playing with each other and stuff like that, but you're literally sucking the life out of the forum. That's why I think it would be better for you guys to have an invisible forum for yourself. I'm not necessarily saying that you guys should be cut off from the rest of the forum, it's not like you wouldn't still be able to post in the rest of the forums. I want to stimulate activity OUTSIDE of the dragoon elites forum.

Tell you what. It may actually stimulate activity if people have to look at each individual forum for threads instead of pressing a button that gives them the latest threads. That way you can see some that are a little older that may interest you ;).

Do you not know how the view new posts works? You view new posts, post in whatever you feel like posting in, then you leave. Then when you come back, you view new posts, and you can see everything that you've missed while you were gone.

It just doesn't make sense to me how it is sucking the life out of the rest of the Forums? I could see if there was about 30+ active threads a day then it could be crummy looking at a page full of Dragoon posts, but fact is, we only have like 7 or so threads active at any given time. Threads usually start with decent content, then after some time, we recollect on a game that was effected by what we're talking about, then suddenly we are talking shit and busting each other's chops because it's fun.

The Chat Forum is a spam box, the General Conversation talks about anything, and the Dragoon Elite is for members of our Halo clan talking about gaming experiences, strategies, and just communicating in general about our lives and seeing when we are available to play. We're harmless really. Like I said before, if you really think it will help YOU personally to post more if we weren't here, then get us blocked! You've done it before, and so have I.

Well we already have an invisible section where we dont spam K_A. We have had for nearly 4 months now. You guys just dont see it. We goof around and do other things outside of it so all of you can get in and maybe one day play with us. But i guess you just dont want to see us spam anymore so us mods and members have come up with a solution and will be out of your hair asap
