I've been thinking about the word Nigger recently, suprise aye?

But I've been thinking, looking around a few places, dicionary.com, etc. Of the meaning of the word Nigger. For one it is derogotory, plain and simple.

I ALWAYS used to think that a "Nigger" was somebody that was all around lazy, didn't have a job, was a neuisance to society. Then in my 8yrold MTV days I learned that the "n" word was often associated with the "Blacks". Which whatever, ok saying the "N" word is describing a black person.

But now it is at the point, where A white kid like myself can't even think about the word, let alone say it aloud. But one thing about the word that I love is how pissed off people get when you call them that. Over the years i've ALWAYS called my friends (white) niggers, niggas, spics, jews, wetbacks, anything that is racially offensive. But how can it be offensive to anybody who is what i'm saying, unless they are admitting that they are shitty people and fall into the stereotype.

Basically my question is, Is it ' O K ' for me to call my friends Niggers?

wouldnt it be so much easier to just not say it.. Its in general offensive, some politician (somebody back me up here beacuse this is a true story) said the word 'niggardly' and got introuble and he was using it to say lazy and there was no mention of blacks in the whole thing. Just dont say the word, who needs its, expand your vocabulary it will make you smarter!

I call all my friends negros even if they're actually black :p

Basically, from what I've seen, it's okay to call others that if they're okay with being called it. However, I usually only see other blacks call each other that, and it was especially frequent when I was little, growing up in the "ghetto's" of Kalamazoo. (Yes people, I did. I lived on a street that was more or less a middle ground between GD and VL. Fun, but I still use the term ghetto loosely.)

It all depends on the individual on the giving end, and how they're using the term, and whether or not the person on the receiving end knows how the person on the giving end is using it.

I personally could never use it. I was once talking about asian people to a friend, and at one point the word "asian" completely eluded my mind and the word "chink" slipped out. I felt shittily guilty afterwards. I can't even bring myself to say racially offensive terms, not even when seriously discussing certain topics.

Negro=black in spanish. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it or not.

Oh yea, why are you so obsessed with offensive names? You think about it all the time obviously ...you end a lot of your posts with it. I don't think anyone likes you any more because of it ...I don't find it witty or funny. I do joke about with my friends with nigga and such but still ...why always use it? Is it because you want attention? Do you need more hugs? Want a hug? Commere ...*hugs*

Yes alot of things in our language comes from spanish +french, and no it has nothing to do with it..

I'm not obsessed with offensive names, everybody else dwells on them and labels everything racist and obscene. I'm not trying to be funny, it's just a word I associate with my friends, and it bothers none of them becuase they all call me it too, but if a black person is near we all feel oblidged not to say it, and for what? .......

Well, is it ok that I walk up to you and say, yo you white mother fucker. Since you didn't fuck you mother, it must be acceptable for me to call you that. If you actually get piss, then you must fucked your mother.
