Chapter 4
I know I haven't updated in a while so heres the start to chapter 4.
And good news: with standard novel 5 X 8 style I have about 70 pages. ************************************************** ****** Chapter 4 The dial-tone in my ear sent the same familiar feeling as I dial the number to her house. Hello? A memorable voice answer in the usual phone-etiquette. Hey Eadi, whats up I say sitting down at my computer. Oh hey, Jason. Whats going on? She says. Nothing much. Do you have my coat at your house? My voice over the phone crackles in her ear. Yeah, I borrowed it from you the other day. Why, you need it back? No, not really. I just wanted an excuse to come see you. I type a few things in the story I pulled up on my computer. Well, she slightly laughs, thats just like you. Sure you can come see me. Cool, Ill be there in a few minutes. I hang up the phone and save my document. Minutes later I pulled up into Eadis driveway. I kill the engine and walk to the front door. The door opens and Eadi walks back to the living room. Last school years events are slowly fading away with time. Closing the door behind me I follow Eadi into the living room and sit down on the sofa. The TV is blaring hard rock on some music video channel. Eadi walk through the door from the kitchen and sits on the sofa beside me. ************************************************** ****** |

Only bad thing is I haven't uploaded chapter 3 yet. I have to correct alot of errors. |
Not bad. Not bad. :D
I posted two stories on Zel. No one read them, though. Probably because they were too long. ;) Post some more. |
Get it published. I'll read it then.

hey wed-g, Where is the best place to publish poetry books(where the writer can make the book look like anything he/she wants) and the publisher will send the books to the bookstores across the world, or at least the usa? and if they can't do that, do you know of a way to sell books to the stores w/out getting laughed out of the store or rejected(granted that the book is good material)?
P.S. are you a Christian? I read your earlier posts. I'm a christian as well. also, you said you like science, right? I LOVE science, expecially astrophysics and time/space theories. maybe we should get a section devoted to scientific theories. |
Yep, I'm Christian... sad to be one of the only Christians in my group of friends... we're losing too many to atheism.
Not that atheists don't have anything important to say. On the contrary, in fact. I love talking to atheists about religion because they are more aware of what's going on in our world and that it needs to be fixed. One thing they don't realize is that it will be fixed, and soon I believe. But one thing that really bugs me, in fact angers me, is that people blame everything on God. War, disease, hunger, murder, greed, poverty are ALL man made. ALL. What God wants us to do is fix it ourselves. God wants us to help others. We're supposed to be successful in life, right? Whats your definition of success? To make lots of money and have everything you want right? WRONG! To be successful is to have people love you because you helped them and showed them the way to the Lord. And for you to love them back. If you don't see where I got this, read the bible. Jesus Christ set the example for how we should be. If you don't believe that he is the savior in the fact that he is God's son, maybe he is the savior in the truth that he was a beautiful man who loved everyone and forgot thier faults. He gave us an example to live by. People are ignorant to believe that our world is just some random existence created by chance. Until we understand, we're stuck in the world that man has condemned to death. |
Oh yeah...
sorry, religious anger got out. If you want to get published: send you book, along with information, to different publishing houses. A few sites I found might be good: www.publishamerica.com www.authorhouse.com www.wheatmark.com www.xlibris.com www.colorhousegraphics.com |
Thanks for the websites. I'll look into them. :)

just curious, but if I send my book to the publishers, how do I keep people at the publisher's place from stealing my work before they publish it(basicly I'm worried that they could steal my stuff and then say that they don't want to pay me/publish it under my name)? and how do I get the first copy made so that I can send it to the publishers? btw, thanks for helping me out w/ this.
|
My uncle says mail it to yourself. Then it has a federal timecode on it. It'll hold up in court. Or you could get it registered.
|
ok. ok. that's a good idea. how do you get it registered, though? what program should I use to make a manuscript? my friend was saying to make as few copies somehow and request a few book stores to let me put a copy of it on the front desk and possible set up a poll asking questions like "Overall was it good?", "What was your favorite part?", "What did I do wrong?" and "Would you like to see more?" and stuff like that. another friend told me to go to a privately owned coffee shop(not starbucks) and see if they could sell my book. they could keep like 30% or whatever. anyway, what do you think of those ideas?
|
I use MSWord for my manuscripts.
But, hey, if you trust me enough to send me a copy, I'd like to read it. If not get it registered first, then send me a copy. I think I'm trustworthy. :p My email is Wed-G |
hey I can send you a sample of it, a copywrited poem.... my best so far...... and do you mind if we talk on yahoo im? I tried to add your screen name to my buddy list, but you regected it... :(
