Tekken 5
Name: Tekken 5
Genre: Fighting System: Playstation 2 Rated: Teen for Language, Sexual Themes, Use of Alcohol and Tobacco, Violence Tekken 5 is an interesting mix of a storyline. The real story is behind Jin Kazama trying to contain the Devil gene from taking over while Kazuya is trying to find the traitors who attacked the Honmaru Dojo. Meanwhile, an evil presence of a Mishima figure controls the King of Iron Fist 5 Tournament. This character is Jinpachi. The graphics are the same as Tekken 4, though a little bit better, but not by much. The stages remind me of how Tekken 1 had been. The music is pretty damned good. Characters that return are Jin Kazama, King, Nina Williams, Christie, Marduk, Julia Chang, Kazuya, Hwoarang, Marhsall Law, Paul Phoenix, and Lee Chaolan. Some of the newer ones are Raven, Feng Wei, Asuka Kazama, and Jinpachi (non playable). A really cool feature to this game is the Arcade History, which lets you play the Arcade versions of Tekken 1, 2, and 3. Which is really fun for the vets who don't like the newer games. A must-have for Tekken lovers. I give this game a 5 out of 5. Note: Jinpachi is a great boss, though sometimes a little bit of a cheap shot with the ability to use fireballs in a row which can nearly kill a character if not too careful. Dodge, dodge, and attack are your best techniques. |
that sounds like an interestinig game i love tekken 2 & 3 i never played tag. but from your review i am already disappointed if they didnt include my favorite fighter of Lei the chinese police officer.

Those are not all the characters.... he's being misleading.
There are four new playable characters: Feng Wei, Raven, Asuka Kazama, ...I forgot? The returning characters from Tekken 4 are: Jin Kazama, Kazuya, Heihachi, Lee Chaolan (Violet), Xiaoyu, Panda, Kuma, Hwoarang, Nina William, Steve Fox, Paul Phoenix, Marshall Law, Marduk, King, Julia Chang, Lei Wulong, Yoshimitsu, Bryan Fury, and Christie Monteiro/Eddy Gordo. Other returning characters are: Bruce, Mokujin, Jack-5 (as to Gun Jack, Jack-2...), Baek, Wang, Anna Williams, Ganryu, Devil Jin... Hope I didn't miss anyone. |
Well, I only listed some of the characters. I wasn't listing 'em all.

well thanks Senesia i actually went out and bought Tekken 5 tonight/last i guess since it is 1:00 am.
and all i have to say is man do my thumbs hurt from playing it. i only have two real complaints so far. First i personally think the movies at the end of the story mode suck. atleast the ones i have seen so far. they no way shape or form come close to the coolness of the ones in Tekken 2&3. Secondly why in the hell is Devil Jin harder than the actual last boss, the boss can kill me if he hits me with a fire ball, but other than that he is a push over for me compared to devil jin. maybe it is just the way i play characters. I hardly ever block i rely on counter hits like jab punches. |

i havent beat it with heihachi yet but most of the ones that i have seen like marshal law are really stupid and not even funny.
|
I have more problems with Jinpachi than I do with Devil Jin. Jin's usually a pushover for me. And some of the movies are alright. I'm just playing to kill things.
|
i do not know but personally i own jinpachi as long as he does not shoot me with fire balls or do that gay stun move that stops you for a few seconds where you cannot move. and i dont know i guess it is just my style of play that causes me to die to Devil Jin, he get some long ass combo started and i am done because i dont block.

True, if he doesn't do the stun moves or double fireball, he will be easy. The stun move is too powerful, it stuns you even when you're in air. |
that's what kills my ass each time >.<
|
yeah i have to agree the stun move is way to powerful. I am pretty sure that it even stuns you if you side step. But yeah if i am far enough away to side step a fire ball then i kill him pretty easily. The AI varies from battle to battle because sometimes he just wipes the floor with me and he gets a perfect, then other time i kill him just as easily.
