Battle! Kuja vs. Sephiroth

ARENA: The Funhouse

Skills:

Kuja
Weapon: None
Superpowers: Only magic, no superstrength or speed.
Magic: Ultima, Flare Star, Flare, Demi, Thundaga, Curaga, Reflect, probably more.
Nature: Calculating and cruel. Arrogant and cocky, but he can back it up with his awesome magic.

Sephiroth
Weapon: Massamune/Long Sword
Superpower: Strength above other normal humans, flight, teleportation
Magic: Stigma, Supernova, Demi3, Bizarro Energy, Ice3, Fire3, Quake3, Bolt3, Pale Horse, Wall
Physical: Sword Attack, Bizarro Attack, Wing Attack
Nature: Arrogant. Not very impulsive.

I may be banned soon for doing this. Deservedly so. Still, I Zel Melee was always my favorite forum and I wanted to start off this new way of doing things.

Sephiroth's "Wall" blocks against both Magic and Physical attacks, whereas Kuja is confined to just "Reflect" which repels Magic. With this on, no Curaga should be used, obviously, because it would simply help Sephiroth.

Kuja needs to maintain distance between himself and Sephiroth. The Massamune could be used against him, and since he has no weapon of his own, a close-quaters battle only makes the battle that much tougher for him.

The Funhouse might crumble with the magic attacks flying around, demolishing walls and pillars. So, both would have to avoid falling objects.

It's almost dead even magic-wise. Both their attacks are equally destructive and devastating.

Kuja could use Ultima, or even Flare Star, both large-range attacks that would attack all the areas around Sephiroth. However, Sephiroth's Supernova and Stigma attack a large area as well.

It's almost dead even.

I agree with you Necromancer I do believe that they are pretty evenly matched. Though I say that Sephiroth would end up pulling the majority. I mean Kuja has two forms, regular, and Trance, Sephiroth has three, which are regular, Bizarro, and Safer. Though Kuja's Ultima was one bad move, it could totally incapacitate the entire team in Final Fantasy 9 and it destroyed the planet Terra! Still though you can use the spell Ultima on Sephiroth in Final Fantasy 7 and he seems to handle the move okay, so I say he would have enough durability to last quite awhile against Kuja's magic.

Sephiroth does not have three forms. He has one, and that is himself. When he was taken over by Jenova, he was given the ability to turn into those three forms, but not normally.

This was all very meticulously covered in an old Sephiroth battle during the second tournament. I think it is like 4 months back in this Forum if you want to reference it. Actually, I'll find it and edit this post for reference now:

Well when I think of Sephrioth I think of him fighting while being controlled by Jenova. However if the fight is just Sephiroth against Kuja without help from Jenova then I could see things easily pull into the favor of the Genome.

Kuja`s #1 2005-01-09 09:32 AM

Sephiroth without Jenova is actually better. Given Jenova's strength, power and wisdom, but lacking her control, Sephiroth is deadly.

Kuja could still win though. Not fast, but like I said, if he simply repels Sephiroth with powerful magic, he cannot be beat. Still, Sephiroth has a large chance of getting near Kuja and decapitating him. Kuja has Ultima and Flare Star, but Sephiroth appears to be able to fly and teleport. Using a destructive spell like one of thos very near his own person could result in a Double KO.

I'm backing Kuja, but I can argue myself all I like. That's not the point of this battle. Someone else post a good, lengthy battle plan for Sephiroth.

P.S. Don't call him a Genome. I doubt he likes being lumped in with mindless beings...thatt includes Zidane.

look the way I see it is sephiroth is going to use wall, a crap load which gaurds against the majority of Kujas attacks. So, Kuja with his cocky attitude, is gonna get tired of loosing, use ultima, destroy the planet along with him and sephiroth, resulting in a double K.O.

Kuja`s #1 2005-01-09 04:14 PM

He's not the suicidal type. He wanted to murder everyone and obliterate all existence, but killing himself is not on his mind.

Draco2003 2005-01-09 04:24 PM

Sephiroth was not controlled by Jenova, at least not from what I can remember. He had Jenova Cells in him which game him all the power. The Jenova cells were injected to create another weapon for Shin-Ra. Did it work? Sorta. He was just a crazed person trying to make his mommy happy. Just say, "Hey, Seph, He's talkin' crap about your mom!" and he'd do what any crazed lunatic would do. Kill him. And his 3 forms easily beats out Kuja's 2. And besides, Trance is just like a Limit. It just gives him temporary power when he has been abused so much. Sephiroth actually had 3 different forms, which came from the manipulation of the Jenova cells. Kuja is just gonna have to accept defeat this time.

Kuja`s #1 2005-01-09 04:48 PM

Thank God Kuja the user ain't here. He might be inclined to kill you.

1. Sephiroth's Jenova Cells provoked him. How else can you explain him suddenly going insane? It's a crappy plot, but Jenova's influence on him is evident.

2. Trance is normally a Limit. Like Kuja said, a normal Trance wouldn't work. So, he used the Invincible and the souls it had to create a sorta Super Trance. As far as we can tell, he can maintain this Trance for an extended period of time. It might even have been permanent, but his near-death state removed it. A normal Trance is nothing compared to his.

3. Sephiroth has technically two forms. Human can count, but Safer and Bizarro Sephiroth forms aren't really taken into consideration. We're just assuming he has all the powers he had while in those forms, but he can stay in human form. I doubt he would want to be in Bizarro or Safer Sephiroth form since I doubt either form has alot of mobility.

With Curaga and Reflect, Kuja could deal with Seph's magic. His physical attacks are the ever present problem. Like I said, he simply needs to use magic to keep Sephiroth at bay. Flare Star, Demi, Flare, Holy, and of course, his sorta Super Ultima. His Ultima is unique and the Ultima variations in other FF's cannot compare. I say he could win, but I await your reply.

The Main Man 2005-01-12 10:05 AM

Sephiroth's mobility might be slower in Bizarro or Safer form (I doubt it would be though in Safer) but still his defense is much more stronger. I mean just compare hit points between Sephiroth and Safer Sephiroth.

Sephiroth: about 5,200

Safer Sephiroth: about 72,000

and if all of your characters are maxed out, then Safer Sephiroth's hit points get extremely higher as a result. So any way you put it the two forms would help Sephiroth out that is if we are using them.

Big Kujo 2005-01-21 01:11 PM

Well ,The fight would change if Kuja's White Dragon and Jenova show up to help

Kuja`s #1 2005-01-21 03:45 PM

First, it's the Silver Dragon.

Secondly, it would make it easier for Kuja. Jenova is a tall beast in three of the four battles. Still, with hisi Dragon, Kuja would most certainly be out of its reach.

But, this is boring now.

The Main Man 2005-01-23 05:32 AM

So you are just going to stop from posting in the Zelaron Melee forum. Well I haven't seen much action here anyways. And if things persist then I see no reason to stay on this board, because it was the only reason I really joined.
