Question about reputation???
 

How does reputation effect the status of NPCs in a place such as Booty Bay? Say my current status with Booty Bay is Neutral. When I get attacked in Booty Bay the NPCs won’t defend me. If I am friendly status do they defend me? What about Honored status? What if I am friendly status (or whatever status I need for the NPCs to start to defend me) and I attack an enemy player, do they assist me because of my status? Or do I need to be honored or exalted to get the NPCs to assist me?

Say I am friendly status in Booty Bay and I attack an enemy player that is also friendly status, how do the NPCs handle that? Do they defend both of us? Do they just watch as we beat each other to death? What if that same person I am attacking is Honored status in Booty Bay? Will the NPCs start jumping on me because I am only friendly to them and my enemy is honored? The entire system confuses me and I don’t entirely understand the rules and benefits of working on my status with a particular clan.

One last question. I have achieved honored status in Ironforge. I now get a discount on everything I buy there. As I move up in my status with Ironforge do I get additional discounts at each level? How much is the discount? What about selling stuff to vendors? Do I get more money for my items as my standing with them gets higher?

They won't defend you in BB?! Whoa that is teh suck..

This is what I know:

If you're Neutral, the BB guards SHOULD defend you if someone else attacked you, unless they have a higher reputation. If they do, I hear the Guards will attack the one with lower reputation. I've been the defender in BB several times, and a few times the guards attacked me rather than the aggressor.

I think the highest discount you can get is the 10% at Honored. The WoW FAQ on it doesn't say that it increases. Granted, it's likely outdated because it doesn't have 'Exhalted' on there. No additional money for higher status when you're selling things.

The max discount is at honored. As for booty bay and whatnot.. I think it's just whoever is closest to the guard that they attack. It's pretty.. questionable.
