I left a lot of stuff off the list because I had no idea what any of it was. I only included titles that I have any information on.

In addition, there are several other games not on this list that have been announced (such as Xenosaga DS, Baten Kaitos DS and Castlevania DS), but no information has been gathered on them at all beyond that point, so I opted not to include them.

WetWired 2004-12-15 06:50 AM

"Super Princess Peach"? Does this mean that now Mario is trapped in a distant castle and it's up to the princess to save him? :haha:

D3V 2004-12-15 12:33 PM

I only see one game that isn't 100% kiddy.

Sovereign 2004-12-15 12:45 PM

Those are the must gets imo ~_~

Shining Knights 2004-12-15 06:30 PM

It matters not whether you win or lose; what matters is whether I win or lose.

-=Rico-GP=- 2004-12-15 06:42 PM

That's a nice list of games. Considering adding it to my wish list.

Thanks Raz.

The Final Fantasy series and Xenosaga own all. End of story.

LOL

I rest my case, just look at that man, those are games that 8 year olds play....

(Not all of them but the vast majority)

Sovereign 2004-12-15 08:49 PM

If it's fun, why does it matter?

Nobody really knows what the story is. It's a 2D platformer starring Peach. The screens actually look pretty good.

Whoops, I didn't mean Xenogears. I meant Xenosaga. The Xenosaga series is being moved to the DS after Episode 2. It will probably remain on the DS for one or two episodes and then be moved to another platform. Most likely a next-gen platform.

I can deal with that.

You've got to be fucking kidding. They're not continuing it on PS2? I'm not about to go buying every fucking console system out there to play a series.

Raziel 2004-12-16 12:25 AM

When the series was announced, both Namco and Monolith stated that it would take more than a decade to complete and that it would range across multiple consoles. The whole idea was to create a series that transcended the ideas of console-affiliations and boundaries. They aimed to make the most epic videogame story ever created, and you can't really accomplish that if you stick to just one platform.

Now, the announcement that Xenosaga is coming to DS might not necessarily mean that the series is totally moving away from the PS2 just yet. There has been no official clarification as to whether the DS game will be Episode 3, a spin-off title (like Kingdom Hearts: Chain of memories) or a port of Episode 1 or 2.

However, considering that the DS' hardware capabilities simply wouldn't be able to handle the ridiculous amount of CG required to port Episode 1 or 2, the most likely possibility is that we're going to see Episode 3 or a spin-off episode take place on the handheld. Either that, or we may actually get a port of Xenogears, because the DS could certainly handle that.

Either way, you're going to have to buy more hardware to experience the entire saga. Namco and Monolith both stated this a few years ago when the first episode was announced.

Im not shelling out the money just yet, But if a new intallment were to go exlusive with the DS, I'd ne forced to get it.

Despite not so much as finish Xenosaga yet (I have HUGE completion issues), im ready to jump into hell it'self with that series. Fortunately, I don't think things will get that drastic.

Here is what i think of the games.

Advance Wars DS - Sounds something like a flash game created on newgrounds. Something where you attack the computer's base on one screen, while they attack yours on the other screen.
Animal Crossing DS - Sounds something like Frogger. Maybe this will make it much more fun and advanced considering there are 2 screens. Possibly make it so you have to make 2 animals meet at the end/top of the screens to win.
Another - Sounds like something ghetto. A must have.
Bomberman DS - Like any bomberman, it might be for 9 1/2 year olds but its always funner'n shit!
Dynasty Warriors - Holy christ! Has dynasty warriors come to DS? That is amazing! Sounds like you'll have a map on one screen and your player on the other.
Egg Monster Hero - You go around and kill monsters to get eggs. Every egg has a suprise :D
Final Fantasy 3 - FF3. All i have to say. The shit!
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles DS - FFCC. All i have to say. The shit!
Harvest Moon DS - Holy fuck! Harvest moon? Harvest moon is so fun! You harvest everything and make as much gold/money as you can to raise animals and crops.
Legend of Zelda DS - Sounds like Zelda 64 game on DS ! Tight!
Madden NFL 2005 - Eh. Another sports game :(
Mario Kart DS - Totally fun! I'm guessing some ' game-boy pokemon links' will be produced in the near future. Get 50$ ready.
Meteos - Dodging meteors. Only explanation.
Metroid Prime: Hunters - Everyone's played the demo.
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed - TIGHT! Wing on DS! A must have
Moonlight Fables - Something like sailor moon it sounds like.
Nanostray - Who knows.
Naruto - I've seen a lot of DII accounts passwords to be Naruto, i think it must be fun.
Need For Speed Underground - >.< awesome! Race cars! map on one screen
Nintendogs - You fuck dogs. Title = no $ for nintendo
Pac n' Roll - Pacman spawn
Pac Pix - Pacman Spawn
Pokemon Dash - AWESOME! Pokemon games on gameboy have to be one of the most fun gameboy games. Dont fucking disagree just becuase its pokemon. You ALL know you owned atleast red or blue version maybe even crystal and other color versions. You all know you played it for months too.
Rayman DS - Rayman. You've all played it.
Retro Atari Classic - A variety of atari games
Super Mario Bros. DS - Mario on DS.
Super Princess Peach - Save mario with peach
Touch! Kirby's Magic Paintbrush - Sounds awesome! Think of it.. With the new 'touch screen' on the DS, you can paint and everything. Sounds tight! Maybe you can even paint your characters.
Viewtiful Joe - SOunds like you have to kill with joe.
Wario Ware Touched! - I think you have to transfer boxes from wario's warehouse to mario's warehouse.
Yoshi's Tough & Go -Racing Yoshi!

Those have ALL been GUESSED. Sounds like my game ideas would be pretty dang fun.

It's a modern war-strategy game. Most likely, the screens won't be used the way you described. One screen will most likely be used for the battle while the other screen is used to manage your troops/vehicles/supplies/etc.

Not even close. Animal Crossing is a life-sim, like the Sims or the Urbz, only with animals instead of people. It's one of the Gamecube's biggest selling games, and the DS version will most likely feature full wireless online capabilities.

It's a weird drama/text adventure game. I don't actually know anything beyond that. I haven't even seen any screenshots.

It's actually a really weird monster-battle game from Squaresoft. Like the wacky Square version of Pokemon.

Quote:

Meteos - Dodging meteors. Only explanation.
It's apparently a shooter/platformer. On one screen you do an asteroids-like shooter game and on the other screen it's a platformer. I have no idea how the game actually works, and it will probably be much less complicated than I make it sound.

Quote:

Moonlight Fables - Something like sailor moon it sounds like.
It's an action/adventure game. From the artwork, it looks more like a medieval RPG than Sailor Moon.

Quote:

Nanostray - Who knows.
From the handful of screenshots I've seen, it looks like a futuristic flight/shooter to me. Maybe like Star Fox.

Quote:

Nintendogs - You fuck dogs. Title = no $ for nintendo
It's a pet simulator. It's got "Japanese" written all over it.

Quote:

I'm guessing it's either another Kirby platformer or it's a Kirby, Mario Paint-style game.

Quote:

Wario Ware Touched! - I think you have to transfer boxes from wario's warehouse to mario's warehouse.
It's a game that's made up of a few hundred "microgames", which are 5-second minigames. The microgames get thrown at you rapid-fire, so it's a test of your attention, memory and relexes. The original GBA game is one of the most addictive titles I've ever played. The DS version is going to be like crack.

Quote:

Yoshi's Tough & Go -Racing Yoshi!
You lead Yoshi through 2D sidescrolling levels with the touchscreen. You draw bridges for him to walk over, you make ramps for him to walk up, etc. It's kinda like Lemmings.

slaynish 2005-01-03 02:38 AM

Ugh you didnt mention the Pokemon game?

Draco2003 2005-01-03 03:40 PM

To me it sounds like a mario kart thing, but with 200000000 pokemon instead of mario characters. Sounds fun. Wonder how that would play out though.......

RoboticSilence 2005-01-03 03:53 PM

Isn't there supposed to be a new Boktai game for the DS? Maybe I'm just crazy.

Raziel 2005-01-03 10:37 PM

There's a new Boktai game for GBA already, but I wouldn't doubt that there's a third one in development for the DS.

As for that Pokemon game, Slay, I have no idea what it is. I don't play Pokemon, and I don't really care to read about them on news sites.
