That oft requested "New posts in certain forums" hack
I finally made it.
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=72738 Question is, do you want to add a "New Posts (Subscribed forums)" button to the navbar, or change the current New Posts button into a drop down with both options? |
Can't you make another "new" button but then just change the little paper looking image in the "new" button into the subscribed thread/forum image (the little box with a star in it). Then just link that and people will know what it is. And when they mouse over it instead of it saying "New Posts" just put "New Posts in Subscribed forums";.

I use the term button loosely. They are completely text based
|
I just hit the "Install this modification" Button
|
Drop down box .

Well, the drop down menu would certainly be more stylish. However, while clicking twice to get new posts won't really hurt anyone, it generally seems to be a turn off.
I say if you can add the new link in there and still have it look nice and not overcrowded, go for that. Otherwise, style should prevail I suppose. |
f it aint broken dont fix it, nigga.

Okay, it's in. To subscribe to forums, click the http://zelaron.com/forum/images/synt...msubscribe.gif in the forum display. If you're using a non-synth style, you subscribe to a forum in the forum tools drop down, but I suggest subscribing in synth, since synth allows you to subscribe to categories. You can see what forums you are subscribed to (and unsubscribe) from the main page of your usercp.

Good stuff. This is much more convenient, especially for those haters of other forums, such as Diablo and Hosted. ;)
