Disc Errors

My X-Box kept giving me disc read errors.i found out about the 3 different disc drives but couldn't find where to get them. finally i took it upon myself to open the thing, and lo and behold...(insert suspensful music)...I fucked it up more. now i can't even get to the "desktop" to listen to music or anything. it says "Your system if fucked and will no longer play anything, you must send it somewhere across country to get it repaired. If you do not follow these procedures this system will blow up with enough force to level a city!" then in fine print it said, "by the by, in case you didn't know, your warranty is so finished. if you have any complaints send them to www.(insert bullshit site).com. we will try to make sure you pay triple for the repairs. and thank you for purchasing an xbox :D LOSER :haha: ." and laughed at me. so if you could help with any thing cheaper than buying a new xbox, please let me know.

you were trying to play burnt cds huh? ny xbox will only play the store cds not copys, as fro fixing it, What did you touch?

Draco2003 2004-06-23 05:00 PM

I wasn't playing burnt CDs, they were actual original copies, but one day it just said the dreaded error message. I took apart the whole disc drive like some website said to, but then it gave me a message like "Your xbox is seriously damaged and needs to be properly repaired! Please send it to an official XBox service representitive now." so now i just play my gamecube and plan on getting a ps2 but i still miss my xbox:(

You might be able to get like a used one and then transfer your xbox hard drive to that one. No idea where to take it to get it fixed cheap though, sorry.

Okay thanks, but what if my hard drive is fucked up? is there any way to transfer data from one hard drive to another? If not it doesn't matter, I had nothing of great importance except a few soundtracks. My computer is out of the question by the way, in case the transfer involved it.

Since it's only a hard drive, I'm sure you could take it to a local computer store, and they can transfer the data for you. This is assuming that the hard drive isn't terminally damaged.

Well, thanks, but wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy a new X-Box(I can get them for $150 new) but I don't want to spend the money if I don't have to. And speaking of burnt games(sweet tooth) where can I get a Program that burns games because I want to burn PS games. I have something called Game Copy, but it only does PC games and it doesn't really copy them, it creates a file that will run the executable file already on the computer. So really it is just a backup, which sux.

P.S. If the copying games question should be posted in another forum, tell me and I will post it, but don't answer it here. Answer it in the new post. :cyborg:
