ok, im pretty good at software for one computer, not related to internet, but when it comes to internet i dont know anything

for an ip address, how is it determined, how can it be used, and if i take a laptop or something to another connection does the ip change?

thx for any help, also, where can i go to get some info about the internet?

IP stands for Internet Protocols. It is auto-assigned every time you connect to the internet, however, you do not want to make on up, because if the one you made it up has already be taken, then it will not work.

i think i have a dynamic, because in my lan settings it says "determine ip automatically"

nope, that just means that your Internet Service provider is assigning you an IP. It doesnt mean its static or dynamic. you should call them and ask if it is.

Tell them to give you a Class C IP address man!!
