Your Opinion

Do you think that a Mod/Admin , etc. (staff member) should be De-Modded, or Dethroned if his/her beliefs do not reflect the beliefs of this website?

Sovereign 2003-12-15 02:16 PM

The staff of zelaron, or for that matter the staff of anything, are always entitled to their opinion. This is protected by constitutional law.

What the staff thinks and says reflects on zelaron as a whole. If we have a nazi as a news poster for example, to allow him or her to rant off with racial slurs and racial comments would make zel look bad. If we were to allow a racist person to stay in "power", people might get the impression that the staff supports racism.

DaFrigginDoctah 2003-12-15 02:33 PM

Why not just clone a single, hum-drum human being, and have them all be the mods and admins?

Demosthenes 2003-12-15 02:39 PM

No.

If their beliefs don't match the opinions of zelaron as a whole so be it...they are entitled to their own opinion. It's like saying...if a member here doesn't share the same beliefs as the rest of the forum should he be banned?

That could lead 2 trouble for you.

Sovereign 2003-12-15 02:46 PM

Lets say you own a business or a company. Lets say one of your head bosses feels inclined to yell out "NIGGERS SUCK" or something of the sort. WHat would YOU do? WOuld you allow him to keep his job, starting all this contrevorsy and arguements between african americans and the staff of the business? Or would you just lay him off.

Zelaron is like a mini company. YOu want to attract visitors. Somebody yelling "KILL THE JEWS" or "FUCK ALL NIGGERS" will NOT make people want to stay. It will make people want to high tail it and go to another more FRIENDLY forum.

!King_Amazon! 2003-12-15 03:09 PM

I think it attracts members actually, people get pissed off when they read something like that, so they register and flame the person.

D3V 2003-12-15 07:50 PM

Exactly, I think that Zel members should be allowed to post their opinions in the flame forums where it is supposed to be. But when it spreads into other forums it should be disallowed and cut off.

Mantralord 2003-12-15 08:06 PM

In Florida, if your business has 15 or less employees, it is legal to discriminate against race/sex or anything. However, almost all small businesses don't do that anyway because it has a bad image.

Jamesadin 2003-12-16 03:30 PM

Ive been on the staff for over a year and a half now. You need to learn that on the staff you are representing zelaron as a whole. You shouldn't type racial profanity, becuase that reflects the website in a negative light. I think Sovereign said it best with the company statment. When you become a staff member, thats one of the responsibilitys which you hold... And I back it up 100%

zagggon 2003-12-16 04:54 PM

Yeah it sounds as if you are obligated once you become a mod/Admin...

!King_Amazon! 2003-12-16 05:11 PM

Well, I don't understand why it shouldn't be allowed even in the flame forum by mods. If we don't want zelaron to look bad, maybe we should just get rid of the flame forum all together. It's not just the staff that represent Zelaron, all the members do too.

Also, D3V isn't the only one that talks like that in the flame forum, I do it often too, yet nobody says anything to me.

Demosthenes 2003-12-16 05:25 PM

I say it all the time...unfortunately not enough of the higher members agree with me

Titusfied 2003-12-16 06:43 PM

D3V lost his News Poster position for reflecting the Zelaron Staff image extremely poorly. He expressed his racist remarks outside the Flame Forum, and continued with it in there, just to be a smartass. The decision was the correct one, and that is that.

Of course everyone can say waht they want here, but that doesn't mean you will get away with it. If you flame outside the Flame Forum, you aren't violating your constitutional right to do so, but you are breaking the rules made by the authority of this forum, and you will be banned, or punished in a certain fashion.

D3V is not representative of the Staff, and never has been. It was a terrible mistake to even have considered him as a News Poster, and it is one that will not be made again.

DrowningOnAir 2003-12-16 06:52 PM

Ouch, Titus lays down the law!

I think they should be de-modded in certain cases. Cases that involve Racism and stuff, that's not good.

RoboticSilence 2003-12-16 08:58 PM

I think continuing after a warning should result in immediate revoking of position or temp ban.

Demosthenes 2003-12-16 09:02 PM

Yea...but what if you were to only express racist remarks in the flame forum...would that also be basis 2 have your staff position revoked?

RoboticSilence 2003-12-16 09:04 PM

If you express those in the flame forum then there's no reason to be warned. What I'm saying is that D3V was warned for posting things ouside of the flame forum and he didn't stop.

Demosthenes 2003-12-16 09:06 PM

fair enough then...i thought his news poster position was taken away from him because of the remarks he made in the flame forum.

Kuja 2003-12-16 10:43 PM

I dont think the problem is really that D3V is racist. I beleive everyone can have their opinions. It's that he bitch like a dumbass and has absolutely no manner in the way he express himself. With the way he post about things. I doubt he even have any respect for himself.

!King_Amazon! 2003-12-17 02:32 PM

From your grammar, I would infer that you're a nigger.

Is that racist?
