Every time we talk

You don't understand
Exactly what you do to me.
Every time we talk
My heart wants to scream.
Instead I put a smile on my face.
I'm convincing, I know I am.
You think I'm happy
And getting along without you.
But every time we talk
It's a harsh reminder
That without you beside me
I'm just not complete.
When you left
You took part of me with you.
And truthfully I don't know
Whether I want it back or not.
I'm not sure what you took
When you left me behind you.
I don't know what I'm missing.
Every time we talk
My emotions are jumbled.
I'm happy to be around you,
But still I want to be with you.
How can I love
After you left me so easily?
Tell me, how do you love
After you left me so quickly?
Maybe the next time we talk
I'll ask you this.
I'll ask you how to move on
The next time we talk.
But I'm reminded that I just can't
Every time we talk.

how do you think up all this stuff?

When I write poetry, I do it to sort through different thoughts and feelings that I'm feeling right at that moment, and put them down onto the paper. Often my poetry will need editing after its done, or minor tweaking.

They're usually based on what's going on in my life.

what happened to make you write this poem though?
