meteor or hydra

I wanna make a good sorc for ladder possibly fire only sorc but im still doubting about wheter I should

max fireball
max firemastery
max meteor

or

max fireball
max firemastery
max hydra

whats better ?
or what if fire only sucks ?

zeal311 2003-11-11 02:09 PM

meteor. Mine is currently doing 15k damage and still climbing.

Ganga 2003-11-11 02:19 PM

max firebolt
max fireball
max firemastery
max meteor

Hydra suck, I have it don't do it. It suck at duel and mf. Fire Ball and meteor can own in mf and duel.

Senesia 2003-11-11 02:30 PM

Hydra sucks? Then I'm so going to make one.

On a second thought...

Hydra can only be good if they remove the casting delay for it. The damage is pitiful.

DirtZ 2003-11-11 02:36 PM

Meteor is better....I think so =] its pretty easy to kill meph now...drop from last 3 days....azuwrath sword, skulder, shako, wizzard, gaze, buri, guardian.....hmm actually i found 5x wizz ;P

zagggon 2003-11-11 02:49 PM

hell meph didnt get nerfed?

Ganga 2003-11-11 02:49 PM

Senesia, the delay make the hydra suck also the damage like you said it's suck to.

Just because MF doesn't further increase the chance of drops (on bosses), doesn't mean you can't find good stuff off bosses.

In 1.09, you always heard people saying they find good stuff off Meph with 0 MF, so it is the case now in 1.10.

Meteor is much better then hydra.
The reasons for this are:

Hydra will not raise firebolt and fireball dmg.
Hydra is easier to control yet the dmg is lacking greatly.

P.S. After you used Meteor for a while you will be able to control it without problem.

Senesia 2003-11-11 03:14 PM

Heh, I've always used Meteor in the past...

I'll just add some number..with everything maxed (FM, FBolt, Fball):
Hydra will do around 1-1.5k at around lv 20-25 (I don't remember the exact number)

Meteor will do around 10-15k at around lv 20-25 (Some where around that)

It is (almost) impossible to do a tri-elemental sorc now...of course it is still possible, but everything will take a long time to kill.

P.S. Not to mention, with Fbolt, FM, Meteor maxed, Fire ball will be at its full potential.

son of a bitch, imma prolly have to remake my sorc, i didnt use synergies, still finding primo shit, just not as fast as i could b i suppose

Kuja 2003-11-11 03:46 PM

Thats what i was telling you. :)
Because you did not use synergy my firebolt can almost match your meteor.

ur way wrong sensia my hydra on my sorc is level 28 and 28 master and it does like 800

Kuja 2003-11-11 06:04 PM

Did you hear about synergy ? ;)

Trail 2003-11-11 06:14 PM

Well if you want to have a fire sorc it definitly will be hard to get cold/light since:
20 fire bolt
20 fire ball
20 meteor
20 mast = 80 pts
not to mention firewall/inferno to get to meteor,
skills to get to teleport,
and static
Well it pretty much fills you up..once to level 85+ you will have some freedom where to put your skills in though

Farting_Pumpkin 2003-11-11 06:34 PM

there is no synergie that gives to hydra

Farting_Pumpkin 2003-11-11 07:52 PM

what i meant was there is nothing that gives hydra a bonus

Umpc 2003-11-11 07:58 PM

re look at the pic it gets bonuses from both fire bolt and fire ball

Kuja 2003-11-11 08:02 PM

If you look at the picture it says.

Hydra Receives Bonuses From:
Fire Bolt: +3% Fire Damage Per Level
Fire Ball: +3% Fire Damage Per Level
