Does D2 run faster in window mode?
 

Sorry, might be asking in the wrong forum.

I'm jsut wondering if the game runs any faster(real playing, not botting, etc) in window mode as opposed to fullscreen.

#1, no i dont believe it runs any faster in window mode.
#2, HM would add the paths for you im sure, youd have to ask him though.. ATM he probably doesnt feel like messing with SB right now, although i could be wrong.

question num 1: Yes it does improve quality, speed at which the graphics are proccessed, but not the connection, so in theory it slightlly makes it faster...

The speed depends on your computer. If you got a nice comp then the speed on DII is the same. Anyway try to use both modes.

yeah but when in windowed mode it takes less time to render graphics ect... and less work for your vid card... it is slightlly faster...

Not noticibly faser.. at least not for me.

I agree with all what you have said but also for me playing it at a cafe sometime... they have a vid prob that d2 crashes when in full screen mode. So I set it to window mode and it doesn't seem to crash as much anymore. Just a friendly note to those that might have that problem.

i used to run in full mode and i lagged like hell all the time, even just trading with someone, but now i run in windowed and its like 10x better for me, never any lag at all, might just be me, but id pick window mode any day, and if its to small for you change the resolution on your comp, make it as big as it is in full screen

i have same prob, Umpc i agree, with me windowed mode is 10x faster...

i also agree...i have a p4 2.0 ghz ati radeon 8500 dv...in windowed mode it runs like 3-5 times faster
on my other pc...(p2 333mhz geforce 2 mx) windowed mode makes the game 10-20 times faster and clearer

but...when u click outside the window..you're dun..specially in cows!

i like full screen d2.. for my comp i feel no lag in games in window mode... but again i click off and boom. Oo...

ahh well if you click off in a windowed d2 while dueling, if your good you can recover from doing so. ;)

Hm if just any1 could make a program that didnt allow you to click outside of the DII window...
