AVI Video files.

I can't view them with.. Winamp3, Real Player, Or windows Media Player.. What should I do?

Mr.Lee 2003-01-27 06:03 AM

Seems that you dont have the right codec.

Adrenachrome 2003-01-27 06:07 AM

When I use Media player it says.. 'Error downloading codec'

Mr.Lee 2003-01-27 06:12 AM

Is that a DivX file whom youre trying to view?

Adrenachrome 2003-01-27 06:18 AM

AVI, I'm positive. Its Randuin's tutorial, and every other AVI file.

Mr.Lee 2003-01-27 06:39 AM

Ive just downloaded and checked the file. The file uses DivX compression. And you oviously dont have the DivX codec.

Download it here
www.divx.com

Note
The DivX movie may have different file extensions like mpg , avi etc.

JohnnyTAE 2003-01-27 07:04 AM

Windows media can download divx codecs too.

Mr.Lee 2003-01-27 07:07 AM

But the problem is that Adrena got

'Error downloading codec'

Adrenachrome 2003-01-27 09:16 AM

Perfect, Thanks alot Lee. Don't some DvD players play divx?

Mr.Lee 2003-01-27 10:38 AM

That depends if the DvD player does have a future to do it.
Im talking about the 'none-put-in-comps-one'.

In the computer you just need the right codec.
And some kind of media player of course.
