New to GameCube

I just bought the GameCube bundle (a good deal, btw: console, super mario sunshine[which sucks], controller, and memory card) and I was wondering what are some really liked games?

So, reply and tell me your favorite game and what genre it is. Thanks.

Get Metroid Prime immediately.

Animal Crossing is also very poular, but I still haven't picked it up.

Eternal Darkness is the 3rd game people rave about.

But definately Metroid. Not even up for debate really.

i like how people always fail to look around the forum for previous posts.

Actually, I read that post rabber. There weren't many games listed and I was trying to see what people who didn't reply in that thread liked.

Metroid Prime for a good 1 player game and Smash Bros is a great multiplayer game.

Jamesadin 2003-01-06 07:14 AM

Animal Crossing is fun with friends living in your town :)

Thanatos 2003-01-06 11:02 AM

Metroid Prime is a FPS, right?

And, I still think SMS sucks :P

HellSlayer 2003-01-10 04:35 PM

I would get Animal Crossing. I think it is one of the best games for gamecube.

sir.dennis 2003-01-10 08:09 PM

I would say metroids prime and timespillter2 would be some good games to buy.........or MOH:front line.

Jamesadin 2003-01-11 09:35 AM

I played MOH:Frontline...it didnt really astound me. Though I did play it on the PS2 at my friend's house, it might be better on GC.

it wouldnt be better on youre GC except for the controls maybe
But its just a direct port so it shouldnt be better.
Anyways you should get this games:

Metriod prime
Timesplitters 2
Super smash brothers melee
Eternal Darkness
Animal crossings
Legend of zelda: The wind waker

that are about the best games for gamecube you can buy at the moment

Good luck

ask_rabber 2003-01-11 07:29 PM

is Zelda out yet?

and no, metroid is NOT an fps, although everybody thinks it is. its the first person view unless you are in the morph ball, but it sure as hell is not an fps. you spend a lot of time doing puzzles and locating different items. you don't have quests to go get the most kill count of a certain monster or kill all the monsters in the best time, that would be stupid and non-metroidish.

Jamesadin 2003-01-11 09:57 PM

I believe FPS means first person shooter, and most of the time it is in first-person.

ask_rabber 2003-01-11 10:11 PM

'tis not a shooter though, my friend.

Technically speaking its an FPA., given its traits from the rest of the metroid games.

Zelda release date - I heard it was like march or something.

Thanatos 2003-01-13 03:50 PM

Oh, ok thanks. Time to go rent it.
