2009 Zelaron Fantasy Football?

Anyone down to play some Fantasy Football this year?

The draft is coming up shortly, and before we know it preseason will be here and it will be time to pick our teams.

But far ahead of schedule, would anyone be interested in playing again?

Titusfied 2009-04-18 08:01 AM

No dizzle.

D3V 2009-05-26 10:21 AM

I think we should have the draft the second week of Preseason as usual, or somewhere in that timeframe. Any BS injuries should all be out of the way. (My pay leagues are doing this as well).

D3V 2009-07-29 03:09 PM

C'mon guys.

Training Camps are starting all around the league within a week. Michael Vick has been reinstated. Today Giants' former receiver Plaxico Burress pled his case in front of the grand jury. Things are about to start taking off as the 'dead zone' ends here shortly. I cannot wait!

Titusfied 2009-07-29 04:05 PM

Training camps are certainly amongst us! I'm so fucking happy the Phillies have been able to fill the void over the last few years, and even today we traded for Cliff Lee and I'm super pumped! But I still am DIEING for FOOTBALL!!!

D3V 2009-07-30 08:06 AM

I think this may be the first time in a while we don't have enough people interested in fantasy football to be able to start our own league :(

Thanatos 2009-07-30 10:40 AM

We've NEVER had enough people interested. We may get 8 people to start a league but only 2 actually update their rosters. Lame as fuck.

Titusfied 2009-07-31 06:03 AM

Looks like the end of an era.

D3V 2009-07-31 10:04 AM

This is a damn sad day, indeed. I could pull some r-tards from the Jaguars.com forums.

!King_Amazon! 2009-07-31 10:36 AM

This is the yearly thread where I'm supposed to say that football is gay and call you all fags, right?

D3V 2009-07-31 11:42 AM

Yes, but I recall you talking about your excitement for the football season coming up now that you can chill in the bars. So once you call any of us a fag and you end up at a bar during a football game, that automatically puts you in the dicksucking category.

!King_Amazon! 2009-07-31 12:10 PM

Yeah but I still don't like football. I just enjoy watching drunk people at the bar. Football season naturally means more drunk people at the bar (since it's a sports bar).

Titusfied 2009-08-01 08:21 AM

I love drinking.

I love bars.

I love football.

It's an easy equation for success.

!King_Amazon! 2009-08-01 03:53 PM

Well I feel you on the beers and bars part. Maybe football will grow on me, who knows? I'm at the bar enough that I'll probably get into it at least a bit. Point is I like beer and watching drunk people. Drunk people are HILARIOUS.

Thanatos 2009-08-01 11:46 PM

Agreed. One of my favorite things to do was to get high and watch drunk people interract with each other. Hilarity ensued.

D3V 2009-08-02 03:26 PM

Definitely.

!King_Amazon! 2009-08-02 04:05 PM

When I was smoking pot, I loved to smoke a bowl and then go up to the bar for bar food. Oh man. Bar food is awesome enough already.

Titusfied 2009-08-03 12:00 PM

Bar > Everything.

D3V 2009-08-03 01:52 PM

So what's up with Vick? Think he'll ever get signed to anyone's team? I know Jacksonville has not shown any interest and they have said already that they do not want him.

Titusfied 2009-08-04 06:42 AM

Yeah, he'll get signed. Probably play in the UFL first, show case his talents, then come back by like week 8 as possibly a wild cat type QB or an injury/shitty performance replacement. I'd like to see him on the field again, he was fun to watch.

D3V 2009-08-04 09:37 AM

I def agree. I still think he has some left in the tank, I mean he still has the rushing record for any QB in a season (1,000-something yards?). I'm suprised honestly somebody hasn't stepped up yet, or maybe teams are still just going to wade things out. Nobody wants the bad publibliciy that comes with him, he might still have some good to do in the world before things go his way again.

Thanatos 2009-08-04 10:25 AM

If Manning gets hurt this year (OH SWEET BABY JESUS NOOOO), we'll sign Vick.

!King_Amazon! 2009-08-04 10:44 AM

gaynatos is at it again, referring to his favorite team as if he's part of it

Thanatos 2009-08-04 12:41 PM

Any dedicated sports fan does it. Shut your dirty whore mouth.

!King_Amazon! 2009-08-04 01:14 PM

me and the other beatles were really sad when we heard that john lennon had been shot

seewhatididthar?

D3V 2009-08-04 02:44 PM

bad example, they were around before any of our times. Identifying yourself as part of the team is a normal thing, we've already established this last season. I mean, they don't call the crowd the '13th man' for any reason. Just because you aren't capable of becoming passionate about any team activity doesn't mean you have to bother the people that do.

!King_Amazon! 2009-08-04 03:54 PM

but i do, its tradition

D3V 2009-08-04 04:02 PM

true, that.

Wrong.

Sports teams are localized to one city. Do the Beatles only play concerts in one city? Nope, they traveled the world. Do you pay taxes in your support for the Beatles? My city just recently built a badass new stadium in Indianapolis that WE had to pay for. Are there Beatles merchandise shops anywhere? Probably not; I know of at least 3 stores where they sell nothing but Colts merchandise in Indianapolis.

Your analogy is terrible.

If there weren't fans that came to each and every home game, there would be no football team. That's a fact.

Do football teams only play football in one city? Nope, they travel the country. Liverpool (or England) would be considered The Beatles' "home field".

That stadium is not solely for your team, though. You're supporting every other team that plays there just the same, with your tax money. It's also a stupid waste of money.

I guarantee you there are plenty more stores that specialize in Beatles merchandise and memorabilia than stores that specialize in Colts merchandise.

D3V 2009-08-06 10:17 AM

True, I totally forgot that the Jacksonville Jaguars stadium is actually called Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, meaning the tax payers are still paying the bill for its construction, and most recent reconstruction.

It's not a stupid waste of money. So much revenue is brough to each city because of the NFL. Why do you think each city is so eager to have a team. It may waste money up front, but it is reinbursed through the additional revenues it provides.

You're right! The stadium is not solely for the team. Not only do the stadiums have a place to host many events besides just the NFL. We continually have concerts during the offseason. The monster truck shows will come through town and use the stadium, and that's always a huge sellout. Even during the hurricanes and other huge storms, most NFL stadiums are great places to host temporarily homeless people.

Comparing the Beatles and any sports team is like comparing apples and oranges, srsly. But Thanatos has a point. Do you want to just generalize then how about every place that has NFL merchandise? There are tons and tons and tons of NFL stores around here, and I also can think of atleast 3 or 4 different Jaguars/Jaguars mania stores around here that solely sell Jaguars merchandise.

It's not a waste of money/time/resources to the people that care about it, only you. K_A you are not the entire population of any NFL city, you are not the representation of an NFL fan in any way shape, form, color anything. You do not embody the emotions and passion that go along with giving a shit for a team throughout an entire offseason. You do not purchase magazines for fantasy football, and you do not play fantasy football. You probably never have and never will to tailgating, you will never go to a college football game and probably have never been.

You are not a fanatic, you are not even a fan of the game.

So why are you even bothering posting in here to begin with?

You have continually contributed nothingness in here for the longest of time, and for the most part I find it funny and humorous. But at this point your arguing is becoming nothing more than trolling. We can't even post with each other without you having to argue your own nonsense point a thosand times over and be proved wrong by us so many times. I'm more curious at this point why you care so much. You obviously have some disturbances in your childhood years of not being picked during recess, and it has haunted you until this time.

Is this where Thanatos gives you a pat on the butt and you all go back to circle jerking?

You posting your failure, unfunny pictures over and over again is pointless. They prove nothing other than you like to keep potentially out of context homosexual pictures on tap.

No joke. What else have you got saved on your computer there, buddy? Wait, forget I asked that.

D3V 2009-08-07 02:39 PM

Anyways, a week of training camp is basically over. There's a game on Sunday night, right? Or next Sunday night?

quikspy67 2009-08-08 03:35 AM

Am I too late to join?

Thanatos 2009-08-09 08:21 AM

Did anyone else end up watching it?

No, we haven't even started a league yet. We don't have much interest unless you guys are down to run a 4-man show this year? That might actually be kinda fun, we'd all have stout teams.

Titusfied 2009-08-10 03:02 PM

Ha.... That would be funny checking out our teams. If we did it, we should also set up the point totals so that each week it's like 978 - 943. That would be funny and interesting all the same.
