Wake me when it's over

I'm gonna go hide under my bed.

Kazilla 2008-11-03 11:28 PM

will we know who wins tomorrow?

PureRebel 2008-11-03 11:49 PM

i hate politics and voting time, all the good afternoon cartoons get replaced by news :(

obtw, nice display pic, trippppppy

Sovereign 2008-11-04 05:38 AM

Gonna be doing the same thing i've done the last few elections. Run the tv in the backround and look at it when something is loading or lagging.

Thanatos 2008-11-04 07:37 AM

I'll be at class tonight so I won't get to hear what the outcome looks like.. lame.

Wallow 2008-11-04 08:29 AM

Well I did a few calculations, and we will probably know who wins tommorow maybe close to midnight. If it's announced by that time that Obama won Pennsylvania and any other of the Eastern Coast states like Florida for example, McCain ultimately lost.

!King_Amazon! 2008-11-04 08:40 AM

Pretty much. There are basically like 10 states up for grabs, and if Obama wins any of them, he wins. McCain doesn't have a chance in hell.

Kazilla 2008-11-04 08:41 AM

I remember last election there was a broadcast that showed who had x amount of votes, and what number of x this canidate had. What was that, and will it be on today?

!King_Amazon! 2008-11-04 08:46 AM

Doesn't matter.

Jessifer 2008-11-04 09:06 AM

I have to work until 11:30pm, so I'll briefly check it before I go to watch other stuff when I get home.

I'm on my way to go vote now. <3

-Spector- 2008-11-04 09:19 AM

Recount!

Chads ftw.

Jessifer 2008-11-04 10:22 AM

Voting is complete.

...My sister voted straight Republican. :weird:

Willkillforfood 2008-11-04 10:24 AM

We won't know what the elections look like until late for the entire country.

Kazilla 2008-11-04 10:38 AM

When will we know when Obama has officially won?

Willkillforfood 2008-11-04 10:45 AM

In January when the litigation ends? :p

HandOfHeaven 2008-11-04 10:53 AM

Obama has two of the three big money states already, and if along with those he snags Florida then he will win.

WHY DO YOU LET HER DO THIS?

You're smart enough to debate some sense into her, Jess.

Chruser 2008-11-04 11:49 AM

So when are you adopting anarcho-capitalism?

And she's stubborn enough to ignore me. Trust me, I tried.

Asamin 2008-11-04 12:06 PM

My mom is taking my comp so that she can sit on her bed quivering watching the election.

Chruser 2008-11-04 12:06 PM

FiveThirtyEight increased Obama's chances of victory to 98.9%.

I can agree.

And I just voted! Wooh!!

Today's Polls and Final Election Projection: Obama 349, McCain 189
I really like the looks of that =]

Thanatos 2008-11-04 02:40 PM

Yeah but remember what happened in 2000.....

D3V 2008-11-04 02:49 PM

I'll be happy once it's over and hopefully Obama wins the nomination with no issues.

I know the RNC/GOP are going to pull everything out of their ass/hats (head up their asses) if it doesn't go right for them, expect lots of lawsuits and controversy.

It's not an om nom nomination.

Kazilla 2008-11-04 03:37 PM

What was the biggest landslide victory in presidential history, and also the biggest upset.

Google is your friend.

D3V 2008-11-04 03:51 PM

I'd love nothing more than to see a Black guy on top of that list, that would make my day

Lenny 2008-11-04 04:12 PM

Polls in parts of Indiana and Kentucky have closed!

Come on Obama.

D3V 2008-11-04 04:15 PM

No precints reporting yet, blah! I'll just have to wait 'til I get home to get updated on everything.

Did anyone notice on this website that they mistaked Kerry for McCain in the first paragraph?

D3V 2008-11-04 05:16 PM

Actually, they are refferring to the '04 race, buddy!

Lenny 2008-11-04 05:27 PM

I don't know why, but this is more exciting than the English elections.

Anyway, I think it's official that McCain has Kentucky and Obama has Vermont.

For those who can't get things at work, or can get things but badly, try:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/ame...08/7697829.stm

I doubt you'll be able to get the Live video feed, but the live text is good.

!King_Amazon! 2008-11-04 05:38 PM

It's not "official." It's projected to be that way. At the time of this post, 16% of Kentucky precincts are reporting and 0% of Vermont precincts are reporting. They're essentially saying "we think McCain will win in Kentucky because our math shows he has enough of a lead right now for the rest of the votes not to change the outcome."

!King_Amazon! 2008-11-04 05:40 PM

"CNN analysts will make all projections for CNN broadcasts. When CNN's analysts project a winner in a race, whether it is based upon data from EMR or from the CNN computations, it means that when all the votes are counted, CNN projects that the candidate will win the race. A projection is as close to statistical certainty as possible, but that does not mean that a mistake cannot happen; rather, it means that every precaution has been taken to see that a mistake is not made. CNN will not "declare" someone a winner because that declaration is up to election officials. CNN will make projections based on our best estimate of how CNN expects an election to turn out."

From CNN, anyway.

D3V 2008-11-05 07:51 AM

Wow, well you we're right K_A those polls you linked turned out to be pretty accurate. I was suprised by them, but I guess America really is ready for a change.

It's fucking SILENT here at work today, hahaha.
