Maybe I'm not all up to date and savy like you kids, but what is the point of the Reputation system?

It's supposed to reflect the level of esteem a person has with his/her fellow forumites, but in fact shows if you are in good with D3V and Jizmo.

I think that's how many reputations someone has given.

It also shows that I haven't been completely full of shit when I've said that I don't care about the rep system, for the most part. I would guess I've not given more than 20 reps.

I like giving rep :D. I don't really care about the system a whole lot, but it's fun to give someone a personal pat on the back or a "fuck you" when you feel it's warranted ;P.

WW said the reputation system shows how you and D3v feel about everyone. While that isn't necessarily true, it isnt' far from the truth. You and D3v make up a large portion of the rep given. You got on the defensive, saying that you hardly ever use the system, and WW posted numbers showing otherwise. You in turn told him to shut the fuck up and said that you've given an average amount of rep, and his reply was that the average number is around 10.

So basically, WW said something, you got defensive, he proved you wrong, you told him to STFU and disagreed, he proved you wrong again, and you tell him to STFU again.

He's got facts and numbers, you've got an immature attitude.

I got defensive because WW said the reputation system has gone to shit because me and D3V abused it. Out of my 66 reps, I'll probably bet 55 of them were positive. I didn't neg people every chance I got like D3V.

I just don't think it was fair of him to group me in with D3V. But I wouldn't expect any less, most of the staff here are giant assholes. No wonder new members don't stick around.

You grouped yourself with D3V. For the longest time, it seemed like Jizmo and D3V vs the forum. My initial comment about being in good with you and D3V had nothing to do with how much you individually used rep, but that if you were in good with the "D3V and Jizmo" clique, you'd have high rep.
