Mr.

hiiii i am nick

Lenny 2008-06-02 06:10 AM

Nice to meet you, nick.

Just a quick word for the future - don't abuse the "Report Post" feature, please. Whilst it's nice for a member to introduce themselves, doing it by reporting posts for the reason of "hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii" isn't really the best way.

Either way, enjoy your stay.

Vault Dweller 2008-06-02 10:19 AM

Greetings, Nick.

HandOfHeaven 2008-06-02 10:44 AM

Greetings.

Willkillforfood 2008-06-02 01:19 PM

Sup, nick. Are you friends with Mantralord?

-Spector- 2008-06-02 02:04 PM

Heya Nick. Reported your own post... nice lol

Lenny 2008-06-02 02:32 PM

One of WW's, actually.

Twice.

Asamin 2008-06-02 07:18 PM

dear

Lenny 2008-06-03 08:49 AM

And here's your warning - stop with the "hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii", or I'm going to ban you.

Vault Dweller 2008-06-03 09:31 AM

Don't cross Sheriff Lenny. He don't abide no bullshit.

nickzalnicky 2008-06-04 04:29 AM

hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Lenny 2008-06-04 07:22 AM

Once more, kiddo. Just try me.

Coriander 2008-06-04 07:48 AM

Ugh, Lenny...He isn't going to learn.....

Lenny 2008-06-04 09:59 AM

Even idiots learn - you've just got to repeat it enough times for it to sink in.

And anyway, this way no-one can accuse me of being unfair to new members. I've warned him twice, and given him friendly advice. If he does it again, then I'm well within my rights to ban his arse to Spain, and no-one can argue. :)

Thanatos 2008-06-04 06:09 PM

Heh, he repped me with the comment saying "hiiiiiiiii"

I think he's just a friendly, confused individual.

I can't tell if you're a retard, or a spammer. You do not appear to be a bot. Bots spam in the RPG Maker Area, even though none of us get to see what they write.

!King_Amazon! 2008-11-30 04:09 PM

Obviously a bot, tard. The only reason we get to see it is because it's in the "Introduce Yourself" forum.

Bots have a preferred music type of "123456".

Kazilla 2008-11-30 04:20 PM

Lol, they are getting smarter and smarter.. they said screw your forums permission post system!

Lenny 2008-11-30 05:51 PM

The approval system is, in my opinion, slightly flawed anyway - if a new member posts in the Introduction forum, then if a Mod doesn't do anything within an hour it is automatically approved. Actually, it might be instantly for Introductions. Either way, I don't like it much.

Regardless of that, though, food could be better spent feeding the starving kids in Japan. Or luring back members who joined, said "hi!", and disappeared.

That isn't a flaw, it's an intended feature. The logic behind it is that if a new member joins, posts, and is ignored because nobody can see their posts, they will be less likely to stick around. It's better to have a few spams get through than have new members leave because there wasn't anyone around to approve them.

Lenny 2008-11-30 06:06 PM

I don't agree with it - there are dead zones when no mods are online, which is when spam and pr0n bots can get through the filters.

I think a system in which any posts that include links and images not on the Zelaron server (that is, anything that isn't a smiley) are either sent into the approval queue and wait for a mod (rather than an automatic approval after an hour) or have the links/pictures stripped out before being instantly approved would be better for the Introductions forum. Probably the latter would be better, as posts would still get through instantly, but the bot/spammer posts would be plain text with no links or pr0nographic material.

My reasoning behind that - new members very rarely post anything with links or external images in Introductions, and those that do are more often than not a bot or spammer of sorts.
