Here's an idea.


Multi-Player Zelaron games.


As simple as that, there's millions of games i'm sure that would be easy to implement into VB, and if not, atleast mirror the links and have a shoutbox installed so we chould chat real-time or something.

Games like, Battleship, CHESS, Checkers, Scrabble, Boggle, etc. Fun games to burn the time away, i'm sure if it generated enough intrest (as we hope much things would) we could setup real tournaments or something, just to have some fun. I'd enjoy a few rounds of chess against a few of you, it's been forever since i've really played honestly and i'd like a good test.

I mean, here's a forum for it I haven't read much yet but the capabilities seem to be out there.

But I would really like more-so checkers/chess etc. I know there would be some interest if this could somehow be implemented, and then just go from there.

I'll have a look at your links once I'm using a real computer rather than a cellphone. I've wanted to set up multiplayer games for Zelaron once again (anyone remember Tank Wars?) for quite some time, but none of the available arcade games have been satisfactory. VBArcade has support for multiplayer games, but I haven't gotten any of them to work well yet.

We could always get a SmartFoxServer Pro license and develop our own games in ActionScript...

Any updates? I played tank wars the other day on my brother's Wii.

If I'm not burnt out by the time I finish my Chatbox todo list, I plan on using the experience gained working on it to implement some simple two player board games, such as go, checkers, othello, and perhaps chess.

I'll keep looking into Tank War-esque games and other 4+ player games. I've been extremely busy with school lately, but things should get a bit better on Friday and forth.

I am encouraging you to get the tank wars up. That would be awesome. But then I would have to get good at it again.

Same here! .. Anything multiplayer in that arcade-esque sense would be awesome. Keep us posted on any progression :)

I can't find Tank Wars any longer. Google keeps providing me with various, trivial 3D games. The arcade multiplayer games are giving me trouble, too, as they can't connect to the server. In fact, none of the ibProArcade / vB Arcade multiplayer games seem to be functional in any community I've found.

Damn, it's time to start a new wave of enthusists... I'll see if I can't browse around for some VB forums with games set in place already.

Well it's been a few months, the Chatbox has worked out to be pretty good and that I know of, doesn't have any problems or bugs with it that are too major.

Now, would be a good time to start up a new search for some multiplayer games we could run on these boards, I am still wanting to play somebody in checkers/chess. =)

Let's get some games going. I'd love to play other Zel members at those type of games, especially chess.

I would love to play some poker against some of you guys, i'm actually pretty good at Hold'em.. Blackjack, 5card, etc. I wouldn't mind anything really just being able to play mano e mano or even a few people from here being able to connect and play against each other would be pretty tight.

We can all play Dnd!. Do we have a DM in the house? (dont worry, no one will see us LARPing)

We can take on roles of other Zelaron members. It could be a lot of fun. Scenarios and what may have you. I'm excited ;) In actuality, I'm starving.

Well we can still continue to deliberate and throw ideas around, but there is still a huge task at hand and that's being able to get the right languages being able to coinside with the languages of the forums. I'm going to search the next few days anything that might already have an existing plug-in to make something like this work. We'll see.

i think ww had differnt lagugase in way ealyer and the he took them out because when i looked at zel through archive.org for 2003 it had different laguge select

I was never successful in setting up mutliplayer games for the Zelaron Arcade.

Ya know, d2jsp have a game like what we are discussing, they call it Ladder Smasher or something like that. It is terribad, better off buying an MMO or a FPS or a RTS, or anything that we can all connect to and get to work!

That would be a very good ideal, One thing I have noticed about Zelaron is that a lot of the games we play none of us share same server/realm. Starcraft 2 should have a dedicated Zelaron server/realm that way we can all get on and play. (Yea, Diablo we share but, Diablo is so old!!!)

Or of course Diablo 3. Who knows, WoW never really transferred onto these boards very well, despite it's very large populairity.

Gaming on Zelaron is D-E-A-D.. Which is really quiet sad. Warhammer which had huge hype, and actually lived up to it (to me and others). Hasn't even sparked an interest. World of Warcraft which has over 7,000,000 users has a population from Zelaron of... 12? We need to get our game back.

Even though this forum is dubbed a "gaming forum," the type of members on it (like me) are just interested in other things more than video games. I, for one, do not own any of the Blizzard games. Guess I've spared myself the addiction, even though I've heard that are great games.

That is why gaming here has died, all the old gamers have moved on or past away (not really). Most of the newer members (< 50% I consider new) aren't gamers. Our gaming forums have slacked, and what seems to be 'topic' here is singularity, ai, idiots bitch slapping eachother with purses, and the occasional game that 2-3 members here are interested in.

I went to another forum and posted a question, by the time the forum had redirected me back to my previous page my topic had ended up 1/2 down page 2... Thats what we need to get started here.
