Official Dream Discussion Thread: Post your dreams!

Well, in my dream I got completely trashed in this humongous hotel room, got laid 7 times, got yelled at, and Tom Hanks randomly appeared and started handing me 5 dollar bills. Does this mean anything?

(Rhetorical Question)

KagomJack 2007-08-03 03:28 PM

Good fortune is coming your way, though you will have to deal with an argument or a problem. Expect money to come your way and possibly fame.

That's my guess. And screw rhetorical questions. :<

HandOfHeaven 2007-08-03 03:52 PM

I broke my thumb and shattered my foot in my dream last night. It seemed very real too, everything was the same at my house, and nothing unusual.

Lenny 2007-08-03 04:49 PM

I hate dreams like that... it all only seems real, until you get punched in the nose in your dream, or run into a wall in your dream, and wake up with a bloody nose after headbutting the bed post.

Grav 2007-08-03 04:50 PM

I've had a few dreams where I woke up thinking something that had occured actually happened. I usually went along about half a day before realizing it was a dream... weird feeling.

Thanatos 2007-08-03 06:49 PM

I had a dream that my apartment got busted last night. Woohoo.

hotdog 2007-08-06 09:58 AM

I have the same dream every night about a giant black tornado is gonna destory every person in every country and won't stop until everyone is dead and everything is in rubble. This black tornado has a face too but I can't see who it is clear enough.

klo 2007-08-06 10:02 AM

Bush??

I had a dream last night where I was somehow injured and I woke up asking Kaneda if i was bleeding. Well apparantly he was trying to wake me up anyways...but when I said "my ears or something" he realized i wasn't talking about starting my period. lmao

I very occasionally have dreams about doing drugs or drinking alcohol, and I swear, when I wake up, I feel mostly like I had actually done such things. It doesn't last long, but I've woken up from pot dreams feeling like I'd smoked a few bowls.

Thanatos 2007-08-06 10:42 AM

I had a dream last night that I shot somebody. I don't know who it was, either. It might have been a cop. :( That's a first.

Vault Dweller 2007-08-06 11:20 AM

Zombie dream last night.

HandOfHeaven 2007-08-06 01:35 PM

I actually strolled off of my college campus last night and met Chruser at Target. I asked him what the fuck he was doing in America, he mumbled something and just drove off driving his car via laptop. I think I've been on Zelaron too much...

I freaking hate when I get shot in my dreams I always get pains in my back. Last night I think I had a dream that I was dodging many exploding buses and god knows what other junk.

Lenny 2007-08-07 11:42 AM

I had a very strange dream last night - girl in my form had bought a PS3, and had come round to my place so I could show her how it works, give her tips for using it, ideas for games to buy, and a talk-through of the MGS4 trailers.

I seem to be dreaming about the PS3 a lot this year...

HandOfHeaven 2007-08-07 12:17 PM

I bet that ended in your having sex with her while playing MGS4!

Chruser 2007-08-07 12:19 PM

A couple of nights ago, I dreamt I manually carried 800 kg of cucumber into my apartment, which was a really tedious process. Then I built a mountain out of it, lit it on fire, and it turned into this light-green, gooey, boiling fluid that started to cover my entire apartment. Then I tried to jump up on a table and climb a bookshelf to escape the rising boiling cucumber fluid tides, but I failed and drowned in it. Then I woke up. Quite the turn-out.

!King_Amazon! 2007-08-07 12:19 PM

Chruser, that dream isn't even realistic. You can't light cucumbers on fire.

Lenny 2007-08-07 12:20 PM

Nah. I rarely have dreams involving sex. Very rarely.

Talking about playing MGS4, the dream, before it took that weird turn, did seem to involve me in some kind of peaceful warzone collecting boxes... I blame the cheese.

---

Cucumbers?

And have you ever tried it, !K_A!? What if they're Cucumbers that have been left to dry out? Or have soaked up a good amount of petrol?

Anyway, who says dreams have to be realistic? :p Take mine - a girl? In my bedroom? Hahahaha!

HandOfHeaven 2007-08-07 12:22 PM

Where'd the cheese go? I dunno! Collecting boxes?

Lenny 2007-08-07 12:23 PM

I ate it before bed... and yes, collecting boxes. You know, jumping around, running into the boxes, them disappearing and the number in my inventory going up by 1.

I experience that a lot. Sometimes I've had to ask those involved in my dream if what I experienced actually happened. Apparently, if you become fully lucid, it's impossible to tell the difference between dreams and reality. It's kind of awkward when you're unsure of whether or not you've had sex with somebody, and you don't even drink.

!King_Amazon! 2007-08-07 12:25 PM

If I remember right, the key to having lucid dreams is to recognize the difference between dreams and reality.

That somewhat conflicts with what you're saying.

HandOfHeaven 2007-08-07 01:05 PM

I hate 'real dreams' as I like to call them. The ones that don't have anything out of the ordinary, you feel emotions and have thoughts, but it doesn't actually happen. It's such a confusing feeling.

The key is to use logic (or other means) to notice the fact that you are dreaming, and take it from there. Lucid dreams *feel* exactly as if you are awake.

I'd say this happens to me once a month. Yes, it can get very confusing. Sometimes surreal. I already get pretty strong deja-vu sometimes, where it feels as if something (very specific though) I am doing or looking at already happened. I think that sometimes I dream about the day ahead so when I act it out again it feels like deja-vu?

Lenny 2007-08-08 10:57 AM

Doubt it counts as lucid, but I woke at about six, went back to sleep thinking about an object, and it appeared in the dream before I woke up.

My dream this morning was very strange... kinda carries on from the one about the lass the PS3, and the collecting of boxes. Same lass, except she started a job where I'm working for Summer. She asked me for help in labelling a pallet of boxes... they looked suspiciously like the ones I'd collected the night before.

D3V 2007-08-08 12:15 PM

Yeah I'm with the most of you guys, I usually have it once a month or so, i've never really thought about it in detail, other than it was weird, I think I might take up on the journal idea and try to peice things together, really interesting.

Willkillforfood 2007-08-08 03:33 PM

I don't have deja-vu once a month but I've definitely had a few experiences of it. Mostly when I was younger I would dream about something and then it'd seem to unfold exactly as I had remembered. Huge government conspiracy? I think so.

D3V 2007-08-08 03:37 PM

I think so too.

klo 2007-08-08 03:48 PM

Most likely.

D3V 2007-08-08 04:06 PM

I bet if I had a lucid dream with full control i'd definately blink into the Playboy Mansion...

Lenny 2007-08-09 11:25 AM

I was up too early to have a dream about the lass today. Same goes for tomorrow. :(

At least on Saturday I'll be able to sleep for England. :D Might try for a lucid dream, seeing as I've got the whole day to myself.

Willkillforfood 2007-08-09 02:31 PM

Lenny, you need some sort of super power.

RoboticSilence 2007-08-09 04:10 PM

I had a dream the night before last that took place entirely in a Half-Life mod which may or may not have been a map for Sven-Coop.

A couple weeks ago I had one where I was walking through an office building coldly murdering people with a leatherman knife.

D3V 2007-08-10 10:40 AM

Lmao, that's an awesome dream.

After reading this thread, I had the most vivid dream in the longest time, I was literally at Jax Beach surfing with the family, and we we're surrounded by sharks, and ended up getting attacked (I think Shark Week had something to do with this as well) and we ended up having to go to Shands etc etc., it was ridiculous, at one point it flashed into my mind in my dream that it may be a lucid dream, and then quickly went away after something else had came up.

HandOfHeaven 2007-08-10 10:50 AM

Wow, last night I had a dream about what I was going to do this weekend. It actually happened how I wanted it to, and I did have quite a bit of control over it. Had to check which day it was. Strange...

!King_Amazon! 2007-08-10 11:09 AM

Lucid dreams are pretty cool. I would describe it as the ultimate video game. You can do whatever you want.

I've had lucid dreams about being in the diablo world and fighting like the characters do, I've had lucid dreams about The Matrix, I've had all kinds of lucid dreams. I don't really do it anymore though, unless it's accidental. It's too much of a production to actually induce them, and my girlfriend would probably think I was doing some sort of weird meditation. She doesn't know anything about lucid dreaming.

HandOfHeaven 2007-08-10 11:24 AM

Well I actually went to the store I was planning on going to, bought the exact glowsticks, had my friend weave them in my hair, and danced around a bonfire. My friend even had the acid he had told me about yesterday. I could feel the warmth of the fire, it was great.

Chruser 2007-08-11 12:50 PM

I dreamt a number of considerably terrifying nightmares tonight, but I woke up a number of times, forgetting what I dreamt before. Actually, the only thing I remember is this loud, echoing, possessive, "demonic" voice in my head, screaming "YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW WILL DIE TODAY!" over and over again (six times or so) before I woke up.
