I know the Sushi thread has gotten into a large discussion of alcohol/beer, so I thought it might be nice to have a big thread for beer. Post your favorites, stories, and more! Only blacked-out once from beer. And that was my first kegger.

I have never blacked out from beer, only hard alcohol. I drink any beer that i can get my hands on, but if im just kicking back and relaxing, any lager or ale compliments me. If im trying to get drunk, Bud light, coors light, miller light, nadie light, etc are what i drink. My favorite beer right now for just chilling is Miller Chill and Sam Adams (winter and summer ale).

Well, I think I did one too many kegstands. I've tried my share of shitty beer, but I'm now trying to acquire a taste for darker beers. Just recently had Redstripe again. It's the best shaped bottle ever.

I'm not really a beer drinking. I can't really stand light beers either. I had Molsons (sp) when I visited Canada though. It was decent.

I find it very hard to "drink too much" since I prefer a more mild-medium "drunkness" and I get the spinds way too early to ever black out. I also prefer beer or liquor over one another depdning on the situation. Beer is nice to sit and chill while liquor hits you quicker if you're in a social skipper.

I like to have a couple of drinks and switch to beer nowadays. Liquor fucks me up too much.

I just started recently liking beer, it's DEF. an acquired taste. It took me 3 years of drinking to like beer.

Hah, the other night my neighbors were over and I was already on my 5th shot of 100 proof Southern Comfort. He asked if he could have a shot and I said yeah, but watch out, this shit kicks your ass. We both put down 2 shots. About 10 minutes later he's like Alright man, 1 more shot and then I'm goin home. So we pour shots, this is my 8th one and his 3rd. He takes it.. looks at me all funny.. and then his mouth explodes into a bowling ball. I'm like get the fuck outside!! We were laughing so hard we woke up the other neighbors. Woops.

I try not to over-do it. But you all know when you're at a party and people just kind of hand you a bottle or give yah a beer. When I know I'm piss-ass drunk, I just smoke a little bud and chill out. I try not to blackout because of a certain incident, but we won't go there. Let's just say I turn my dick off when I drink.

For my 16th bday some guy that had interest in me, (and I led on intensly) was setting up shots with some of my friends and I went for like my 6th one and it hit my throat and went right out, onto the guy. Then I was outside with his best friend on the trampoline...that didn't go over well.

One night I had 12 White Russians and woke up on a baseball mound.

Blue, prolly the best beer made. Others I'll drink are Blue light, Coors light, maybe Bud light. Cheap beer=me prolly not even going to drink.

I honestly don't like beer, the taste of it is just nasty, if I want to get drunk, i'm going to get drunk. I've tried Coronas, they're pretty good with limes, but other than that meh, I'ma stick with the Liquor...

If you think Coronas are good with lime, try Miller Chill. You'll love it, I promise.

I actually just tried it over the weekend for the first time at a beach block party, and I liked it a lot. I love Coronas with lime though even more. Hoegardden is my favorite beer right now, by far.

Dos Equis (sp) os def better then corona. Also Blue moon with an orange peel is awesome. My best blackout story is on halloween my freshman year when i had 5 shotsof gin and 3 shots of SoCo 100proof. Needless to say i was fucked up and apparently (my roomate told me this later) I decided to go to class. It was Sat night so i had no class the next day (which is why this is awesome) and walked a mile with no shoes and no shirt to go to class. I woke up in the building that i had class in and found that i broke the window and climbed in. I was scared out of my mind

The lightest beer I drink is Samuel Adams' Boston Lager, you guys are all talking about flavored water in my eyes, I can't drink any of that junk that uses Rice and/or beechwood to cut out the bitterness. :p

Negra Modelo is a dark Mexican ale that's actually really flavorful, it's not too bitter at all considering the type of drink it is.

Ever had Tsingtao? You'd think they added dirt to the aftertaste.

And Gruesome, are you a lighter guy? It takes me eight shots to get a decent buzz, and I'm 18 and 150 pounds.

Never had Tsingtao, but I don't think I've heard anything positive about it.

I was at a friend's and he let me have one. Should've realized it was shitty, since it was in there untouched for a week or so. Sam Adam's is a good beer. I really wish they would drop the drinking age. I almost died of laughter when two of my good buddies got minors just two and four days before their 21sts.

I'm not sure I'm a large proponent of dropping the drinking age, most people show they can't handle alcohol responsibly even at 21, much less at a younger age. Perhaps if we adopt most of Europe's practice of introducing it at a younger age to where it isn't suddenly new and interesting at a later age.

You can't draft a bill that fits everyone, but it is always better to err on the side of caution, especially with peoples' tendency to do things in excess.

Well, I suppose. Talking about blackouts show that people use it in excess. I'm just surprised that something that can make you not even function or know what you are doing is legal, but marijuana isn't legal. How many deaths from too much alcohol? A ton. How many OD's on marijuana? None. Oh well, entirely different subject.

Having a couple of cold Michelob Golden Light's. It's dishwater, but it's what the family got.

I never drank in high school so this episode was probably my 3rd or 4th time drinking (I was 19 at the time). Now (After 3 years of college) i can do at least twice that still not feel anything. When i entered college, i was 5'5" 180 pounds- about 13% body fat. Now i am 5'8" 174 pounds- about 6% body fat.

Oh, makes sense. Not bashing your drinking ability at all, just wondering why such a minute amount. Hmm, I don't measure body fat. I guess I'll have to start working on my hippieish figure. Wait, I'm already a thin, tall, shaggy haired kid.

Good beers: Blue Moon, Tommyknocker (lots of different kinds "Maple Nut Brown" is my fav, they are local Colorado brews), Corona (fukken classic), Newcastle, and the beer I get teh most often though is the cheap ($14 for 24!) Honey Brown ale but it is so good.

Liquor: I like dark liquors and rum is my favorite. The best rum I've found is interestingly enough the cheapest and highest percentage: Sailor Jerry's. Seriously fucking try it!

As a side note I've never blacked out and that seems like a sign that you probably shouldn't drink so much! My body tells me pretty early when it has had enough. (I can comfortably enjoy 5-8 beers or 4-6 shots. of average strength.)

Drinking a couple of Miller Chills, and they are a tasty light beer. Thanks to whoever mentioned/suggested it.

Maybe if I get a few extra bucks, I'll give em a shot.

Edit: Nevermind that's a dumb question. When I was 18, I had boozing buddies. Now that I'm 20 though it's worse.

If you think 20 is bad, wait til your 21. Every other night is somebody's 21st and your expected to go out. Thank god that period in my life is over. I will say though, that drinking isnt what it use to be. By that i mean its not all about getting drunk anymore. Its about having a good time with close friends, or friends that you can be around when you want a drink. Get retarted on a regular basis loses its appeal when you can buy it legally. I guess thats why the Europeans have it right with the young drinking ages. Most study abroad students (at least at my school) can hold thier liquor and understand limits, unlike most American college students.

I already am not about "getting retarded/fucked up". I just like to relax and have a few with some friends or even family. I just want to be able to go buy a bottle of something to have around or get a few beers when I'm having a stressful day. It would be pretty damn annoying to have friends that just want to blackout all the time and I'm really not into the party scene.

To Hand of Heaven: Eight shots for a "decent buzz"? Holy hell boy, you have a serious tolerance. Eight shots and I'd be pretty damn drunk maybe even bobbing and weaving. I am 6'3" and 180lbs.

I used to drink Corona but I've always been a fan of hard liquor. But theres this new energy drink that just came out with Lots of Caffiene and 8.0% Alocohol level. Its pretty fucking sweet, i think it was called titt.

Well, then you fell into the right crowd early because my friends just want to get retarted. I use to be like that when i first entered college, but learned quickly that shit can really hit the fan when you are really messed up. I still drink with my friends, but im alot more cautious to my surroundings and how much i have been consumming. In reguards to drinking with family memebers, i think thats awesome. I drink with my family and its all very casual. Actually, i like drinking with them better sometimes then with friends because there is no pressures being pushed onto you.

Man, I need to hang out with you guys, then, cuz my friends are all about getting extremely wasted and blacking out. That's really fuckin pointless, if you ask me. I used to party all the time and now I've cut back a lot because I have a lot of responsibilities in my life now, but my friends still carry their immature ways and they expect me to follow suit. When I tell them no, they get all upset.. I about got in an altercation with a good friend of mine Saturday night. It was like 1:30 in the morning, I wanted to watch 300 and pass out, while he wanted to continue being loud as fuck and playing beer pong. That's not gonna fly, especially in MY house.

I hate it when people can't just chill. One of my housemates in college used to blast (I'm talking top volume setting) various forms of southern rock from his room at 4am when he got wasted. I can't believe the neighbors never called the cops on us. It was pointless to try to stop him, though. The only thing he would respond to at that point was somebody turning down the volume, and his response was just turning it back up. He was catatonic, staring at his wall, singing along with Skynyrd. It was fucking creepy.

Beer pong is good. I'm really good once I get toasted. Lucky for me, I already have a party house lined up at college, and there are no neighbors nearby. Loud music, hear I come!

I never liked the whole party scene and getting drunk myself, but then I'm not a social kind of person.
