Yo gettin a NEW pistol

Stuck with Springfield this time as the last one has done me well.

http://www.springfield-armory.com/pr...-compact.shtml

The 1911 I got is like four pounds loaded. hardly an easy to conceal/carry weapon. so I'm gonna get this one In .40S&W

It's considerably smaller and lighter and still packs quite a punch with the snappy .40 cal rounds, I'll be picking it up this friday.. (I hope)

It should be quite fun.

Oh, I'll also be gettin the light and laser and take advantage of the accessory rail, this way if someone comes up in the crib at night I'll be able to see them and I'll be able to see my way to my 1911 and/or my rifle if need be.

That flash video makes me want to head down to the highschool and kill the principal.

Very sexy.

Sovereign 2005-11-16 02:01 AM

Isn't there a limit on how many dozens of guns you can have -.-

Adrenachrome 2005-11-16 03:54 PM

No, no limit to how many guns you can own.

Jamesadin 2005-11-16 06:31 PM

I feel very American after watching that video.

Whats the reason for the new handgun?

You're fucking weird.

Adrenachrome 2005-11-16 09:17 PM

Concealed carry.

My M1911A1 is too big and heavy

Kaneda 2005-11-16 10:05 PM

That on the other hand is illegal.

JRwakebord 2005-11-16 11:14 PM

What's illegal? Carrying concealed? Not if you have the proper permits it isn't.

Kaneda 2005-11-17 09:47 AM

Ya but unless hes getting a job as a bounty hunter, or an undercover cop they arn't going to just give him a permit to conceal it and depending on where he lives he probably won't be able to walk around w/ it.

JRwakebord 2005-11-17 01:35 PM

I know people that have permits to carry concealed firearms, and in no way are they cops/bounty hunters. Aslong as your background checks out OK and theres no real reason for them to deny it to you, you can get it.

Adrenachrome 2005-11-17 04:50 PM

Yea... Like Stop reading anti gun colums...

SECOND AMENDMENT PLAYA.

The right to concealed carry is just as important...

Think about it.. if I always carried open.. if I was in a place that was about to get robbed I'd be the first motherfucker shot.

Kaneda 2005-11-17 11:52 PM

Arizona is one of the most pro gun states, and you always have to have it out in the open. In your car, you must always have it on a rack, or in plain sight. If your in a place thats about to get robbed... to fucking bad. People need to know your walking around w/ a god damn firearm. Having it concealed serves no purpose, except to get the jump on someone offensively. I dont read anti gun columns, or any columns for that matter, its just common sense and btw Im all for the second amendment.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
Not very detailed is it?

platnum 2005-11-18 05:01 AM

Do you feel that unsafe in your neighborhood that you need to find another gun with the gun you already have? I live in the city and I dont have a gun accessible in the house, if i felt unsafe I would though..

Kaneda 2005-11-18 10:38 AM

For some people having guns is a hobby.

S2 AM 2005-11-18 11:04 AM

I decided to stop reading your second guessing and find out for myself...

Any person 21 years of age or older may apply in writing to the clerk of the circuit court of the county or city in which he resides, or if he is a member of the United States Armed Forces, the county or city in which he is domiciled, for a five-year permit to carry a concealed handgun. There shall be no requirement regarding the length of time an applicant has been a resident or domiciliary of the county or city. [blah blah blah I get my concealed weapon permit]

Oh ya, and for you Kaneda:
E. The following persons shall be deemed disqualified from obtaining a permit:
[ 1- 7 ]
8. An individual who is addicted to, or is an unlawful user or distributor of, marijuana or any controlled substance.

Of course this is only state law in the state of Virginia, but I'm sure many other states have very similar conditions.

Thanatos 2005-11-18 11:17 AM

And how are they going to know whether or not he smokes marijuana? "Check here if you smoke pot" Fuck no. He'll still be able to obtain that permit.

Lenny 2005-11-18 12:37 PM

Whatever happened to drug tests? Urine tests?

And...yeah...

The local constabulary won't let us renew our gun license until we get a new cabinet for the shotguns. :( Apparently there's some new regulation. They don't seem to mind about the air rifle propped up against my bookcase.

Out of interest, how many guns do you have Adrena?

Kaneda 2005-11-18 12:45 PM

I highly doubt they hand out those permits to every that applys for one. I really couldn't know for shure though could I? If section E. was about controlled substances I'm sure there are many other restrictions for obtaining one.

There were, I didn't figure I'd post them all. If you aren't flagged under any of those circumstances, though, they can't deny you the permit, unless they have some good reason that's not on the list of 20+ different reasons why one shouldn't have a permit for a concealed weapon.

Adrenachrome 2005-11-18 04:18 PM

2 or more misdomeanors within the past three years is one.

Says five on the site but that is out of date from what I understand.

EVERYONE who applies for one will be granted the concealed carry permit UNLESS they violate those reasons. Which are very clear.

I should be ok though I do have alot of misdomeanors but I'm pretty sure they were more than three years ago, they will inform me at the time of application.

Lenny I now own three guns.

Chinese SKS 7.62x39

Springfield Mil-Spec M1911A1 .45 Caliber Automatic Colt Pistol (ACP)

Springfield XD40 Subcompact .40 Caliber Smith & Wesson (S&W)

Most of the states have a carry con. law. You have to get most of them through the state department, DPS, and it takes about 6-8 months most of the time to get it. They contact the local law enforcement where the person is applying from to get local records and NCIC checks for any other additional information. All full time law enforcement officers are allowed to carry anyplace in the us do to the new homeland security law. Some states like mississippi alow you to carry your weapon in your vehicle. They consider it a detachment of your home. Each states regulations are dif..

Willkillforfood 2005-12-03 02:42 AM

If you do not have a concealed weapons permit the weapon has to be in plain sight. However (I live in kentucky which is very pro-gun, mind you) my brother has his permit and can carry concealed weapons on him as long as it's not to a school or government facility and there's NOTHING ANYONE CAN DO ABOUT IT :P. He has a .40 cal glock also, as well as a ar15, ak47, and some others. It's also perfectly legal to own a machinegun or fully automatic assault rifle/sub machine gun if it's pre-assault weapons ban treaty and you have your lisensce to use them ...which costs thousands of dollars.

Adios :o.

My brother assault rifles are semi-auto, however it's possible to "bump fire" them to make them fully auto, well, practically ...but it's just a waste of ammo anyways.
