There is no max. PC3200 is the "supported max" but that means absolutely nothing.

The logitech speakers are PREFERRED by professionals, go back to "Isuckville"!

Change the settings in your BIOS, I believe.

My BIOS has none of these features, so I'll have to wait for my computer before I could tell ya.

I'm telling you, the speakers aren't the best quality...Logitech knows how to make great mice and stuff, but not speakers. Those speakers have bad highs and mids.

But for 70 bucks, how can I go wrong?

A lot of people recommend them, I'm not an audio nut... as long as they work DECENTLY I'll be happy. (they're already being shipped)

I have a Logitech Sound System and it's fucking great, bottom line.

It sounds good to you because you don't know what sounds good to you or not. Hell, you guys would probably think a Bose system sounds good...

Logitech makes a great soundsystem.
No white noise what so ever.
Perfect lows, mids, and highs even at high volumes.

I've heard them before, they have shitty mids and highs. But lets talk about the bass:

While the lower frequences are reproduced well, you're still not getting all the frequences. The range is 35-20000hz. The typical output of a Sound Blaster is 20-20000hz (this can go higher or lower, especially with lossless audio codecs). That's 15hz you're cutting off. It may not seem like much, but consider the fact that a woofer only outputs the lower 60hz, and you'd see that you're losing 25% of your bass sounds.

Now let's take a look at the Creative Gigaworks (which is a great speaker system). It's range is 25-40000hz. Right away you're getting 10hz more bass than the Logitech, and on top of that, you're getting 20,000 extra hz in the highs, which is huge.

Now let's take a look at my preferred listening device, headphones! A Sennheiser HD595 has a range of 12hz-38,500hz. Needless to say, the sound quality is amazing. And that's not even a super high-end Sennheiser pair of headphones.

The differences in those frequencies would only be audible to a fucking bat, And it's never gonna be worth hundreds of dollars to me when I can get 5.1ch surround for under $70.

When the volume is turned up, you would hear and feel the difference in bass.

These speakers are awesome, for ME. Stop suggesting incredible quality speakers when these mid-range ones fit my needs PERFECTLY.
