Let's narrow these choices down, shall we?
Well I am in the shopping-mood for a new car again, since I flippsed my last one, I have been driving around a 1980 Buick Riviera, 2 door with a 350 and it takes gas like a motherfucker. But anyway, I have many choices in mind, and I am looking to Zelaroners for their help in possibly narrowing down the selection.
Price range = < $11, 000.00. Serious votes only please. And when you vote, please post a reply with your reason why. ie Mechanical reliability, comfort, style, longetivity, experience, etc. Let the polls begin! P.S. ALL cars must be between the years 97 - 2003, unless noted otherwise. So if you see one without a year, it will be within those years. |
Impala, Good gas milage and a kickin factory sound system.
|
I was pretty much dead-set, head-on for a new Impala, but then I saw this:
http://research.cars.com/go/crp/safe...p&aff=national Mechanical reliability drops down dramatically after 4 years, according to this pre-sight review.

It matters not whether you win or lose; what matters is whether I win or lose.

Mazda Miata / RSX 7 (with high spoiler ofc)
if you dont like the mazda, then go for the 2000 or the eclipse |
i would say honda accords too, they give good gas mileage
|
Honda Prelude is where its at.......trust me those cars are pimpmobiles, and if you rice them up you'l be the coolest kid in your block!
|
I picked prelude because that's what I drive and I have no complaints.

Go with the Prelude, unless you can find a 4WD Eclipse (I forget what year they made them).

If I were to get a hybrid sedan / coupe, it would definately be a Toyota Prius, though the 2004 is out of my price range, 2001-2003 would be do-able. However, what I would really want is a 2005 Toyota Highlander, which is, obviously, a hybrid SUV, at over 280 horse power, it still has great gas mileage, supposedly. I am pretty much hard-on for a 1999 Honda Accord now, after reading a bunch of reviews. |
I've driven in a Pontiac Grand Am a lot. Nice interior, has lots of balls and I recall it being pretty good on gas.
It was a sweet ride, but you would have to get it in red, looks the best. |
Grand Am? Ewwww. Big and ugly on the outside, cramped on the inside.
|
Not really, the one I was in was big, spacious and really really nice looking on the outside. All sleek.
The inside had plenty of space, 2 hockey bags in the truck(bags full of gear, plus two in the back seat no prob. My dad and I took some peoples gear up on a hockey trip while a bunch of them cramped up in a van. |

Congrats to hear you got a good car. Accords does have its own pros and cons, but if you want a nice, reliable car, then that was probabally the best choice. I was going for the eclipse, only because they look and sound fucking incredible. - Tryannafag Shut up. Grand Am's suck ass. Like WW said, they're all cramped. Every fucking grand am ive been in (and practically everyone has them in KC's suburbs) are smaller than shit and i always have to hug my nuts. You know nothing. Now shoo - |

Second:Accord They look nothing alike. |

Honda Prelude is sexy, without the feel/look of a Sorority Girl car, like the Eclipse. |

If you are looking for a car that does good on gas get like a Ford Contour or Chevy Cavalier. They are kinda small but the gas millage is really good, I have a Contour and the pickup isn't that bad even though its an inline 4 2.0L. So my vote would be for other. These are good cars not imported pos.
