Okay, what in the unholy name of FUCK is GMail and why is it such a big deal?

It's Google's email service. It uses 'threaded' emailing, and gives you 1 GB of storage space. Also, you don't have to delete emails, you merely archive them and they're fully searchable.

I actually believe gmail is desperate they are a great service,but they email people wayyyy to much.

actually they're only handing out invites as they upgrade their hardware, otherwise there is no way they can garantee the one gig service.
