Mt. St. Helens
It's going to erupt again!
|
It didn't erupt last time, it fucking BLEW UP.
|
No, it was an eruption.
|
True, it wasn't an eruption. Mt. St. Helens just exploded. Had the power of 500 Atom Bombs (or so some video we had to watch in science said)
|
maybe it lied?
woo die! |
maybe I should smash your head up against a brick wall until some form of sense is knocked into you...or until you bleed profusely and cry like the little pussy you are...
what was I talking about again? M'kay, yeah, Mt. St. Helens gonna explode. That's pretty bad, hope they evacuate people. |
Mt St Helens erruption/explosion whatever you think it was is wrong. Its called nuiee ardanté (dont know the exact spelling). That is erruption comes from the side of the volcano rather than the top. In Mt St Helen's case, there was a landslide only days before on one of the sides. This created an easier route for the gas/magma/whatever to escape. It began to bulge and when it finally errupted, it was more of a flamethrower than a volcano. The cloud shot off like a rocket horizontally fraying right into the people bellow. If it had gone strait up like they normally do, there wouldnt have been a problem and people wouldn't have had lightning fast cloud of superheated material coming right into their face. So stop bickering cuz ur both wrong.

Wow...that's pretty informational dude. I did not know that. Ya learn something new everyday.
|
Eh, I went through Hurricane Andrew. And 2 other hurricanes in a matter of a few weeks. A stupid volcano doesn't bother me.
Translation of this thread for the stupid 13 year old D2-Section posters which are undoubtedly reading this as part of their crapification of the rest of the forum: LOLZ TEH DC IZ TEH C0MING LO LO PKPKPKPK NECRO CAST LR LRLRLRLR1111!! ??????????????????
Boom Boom Boom. |
Aparrently, the Yellowstone volcano is about 30,000 years overdue, and last time they know that errupted, it was about.......think of it this way. If the erruption of Mt. St. Helens were a golf ball, Yellowstone would be a very large ball you could park a car behind, or something like that.

What?? What's wrong with it? I quite like it myself.
What would you say then? |

Hows that? simple enough for all those simple people |
Periodic eruption, like your mother!

father on your uncles wash cloth*

It's going to make Krakatoa look like pop rocks in root beer. If/When yellowstone goes off, america will be forever scarred with a what, 50+ mile crater where yellowstone was?
Shouldnt happen anytime soon though.... and hopefully by the time it is about to happen, we'd have means to help reduce the pressure. |

No...
Why must you always try to be a smartass? The eruptions of Yellowstone happen in 600,000 year intervals on average. The last time it happened was 640,000 years ago. So it looks like it may not be that far into the future. Also, notice how I stated, in the future. How am I supposed to know what happens in 100 years. For all you know they could invent a volcano stopper in the year 2154. Besides, when the explosion happens, they estimate it will have 2,500 times the power of mt saint helens. So if poking it with a fork is the only option, id take it over raining firery death. Kthx. |
You know, if there were some way to harness this as a weapon of mass destruction to rain "firey death" on other countries, then that would be super kickass.
|
Oh, then you mean a spork.

A titanium spork!
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg..._encoding=UTF8 Gotta shovel that forked rock out somehow. |
No. In the core, a military experiment caused the earths core to stop spinning, and they had to send a team down their to detonate nuclear weapons to help it start up again.... It wasn't a shitty movie but it was no where near a good one either.
|
Wow, I was actually more or less right with my 30 thou years overdue figure. Go Lenny.
Last time Yellowstone erupted, ash etc. spread over a thousand miles, I think. Will have to find the figures again. |
