Imagine:

You kill Diablo Clone, and it says,

"Congratz f00. You just killed the 10,000th Diablo Clone and are the winner of uber pwn prize. You can put a number of sockets equal to the 'area' of the item into any item. The 'area' is the number of spaces the item takes up in your inventory. For instance, a hat has an area of four, and a TP tome has an area of two. There are no restrictions on what you can socket."

What would you socket? I've got some good ideas, but I'll leave it open to you before I throw mine out.

Take a wf which is 8 spots I believe and put in 8 40/15s.

well, i would probobly take a screen shot. Then socket a shako with ber's.

I would do one of the following:

8 socket HoZ
Hoto + 2 sockets
Make a splendor out of a 2 socket shield then add 4 more sockets

4 socket War Travs
1 Socket SOJ
1 Socket Tal Ammy
2 Socket Arachnid Mesh
1 Socket Anni
3 Socket Gheed's
Enigma + 3 sockets
6 Socket Ormus Robe

or

1 Socket Jewel PWN!

8 socket hoz would pwn all lol

I'd probably end up choosing 4 socket War Travs, Enigma + 3 sockets, 1 socket SOJ, or 2 socket Arachnid.

I figure you'd have to put a jewel in it, though. We don't know what mod a rune or gem would put in a charm... Unless... maybe it would get the mods for armor, weapon, and shield but probably not.

I'd choose items that couldn't get socketed, some were stated already. Belts, boots, gloves, and jewelry.

Anything better than War Travs, Arachnid Mesh, or SOJ? I'm thinking probably War Travs would be best because they're the definitive MF boot as well as not being horrible for PvP maybe? I dunno... Anyhow, you could put Ums, Rainbow Facets, Ists, or 40/15s in them--very versatile.

Well, if a weapon has 6 sockets, and its area is 8, you can only add 2 sockets to it.

Also, you can't make a runeword out of anything that's not a normal item. Remember Iths? Ever wonder why they didn't make a silence of the already silence weapon? It wouldn't work.

So, you can't make a BotD unique. (Otherwise, you could make a Kingslayer Rune Master.) Just doesn't work that way.

bob eth deathcleaver only take up 6 space. Fine, eth deathcleave with 1 zod, and 5x40/15 ias still the best melee weapon be out there!

Ops, nvm since botd cb can take up to 8 sockets maybe it will be the best if it sockets with 8x40/15 max jewels...

If it were BotD plus jewels, it would only have 2 40/15s in it.

ok nvm, then the eth deathcleaver with 6 sockets pwn all.

For the Hell of it I would socket a Cathan Ring with a 40/15 just so people would say, "What the fuck is that?"

What if runes have different GODLY features for unsocketables, i.e. Ohm is 150% ed. That would fucking own.

in 1.09 i ALWAYS wanted one of those but i never got one :( :( :( because i had a awesome wolf druid and if he had one of those he would own but i only had a baranars

anyway here is the method:

NEED 3 CHARS! Char A, B, C

A=Unsocker
B=Item Holder
C=Trader

1. Enter game
2. Char A goes to NPC and sniff the NPC ID and open trade with NPC
3. Char B sniffs the ITEM ID of a magic or white item he got in inv.
4. Char B tells the ITEM ID to Char A.
5. Char A types .send 32[NPC ID][ITEM ID]0100000001010000 and steal the item! ITS VERY IMPORTANT THAT CHAR A NEVER CLOSE TRADE WITH NPC!
6. Char B Leave the game and rejoin.
7. Char B sniff the RUNES/JEWELS ID with the 9d Packet. And then tells Char A the IDґs.
8. Char a now sell the runes the same way as he did before. BUT when the rune/jewel appears in inv. Sell it back to NPC. Then go for next rune/jewel. And do the same. When u finished this with all runes/jewels char A tells Char B to go trade with Char C
9. Char B and Char C do trade/cancel
10. Char B Leave and rejoin.
11. Now Item is unsocked.
12. Leave game with char B and C first

For anyone that watching don't try this at closed b.net, else result might be slightly different

I would either, put 6 soc in an eth botd z, or an eth exile for 8 sockets...put some bers, 40-15s, Puls, itd be hot. And id put an eth rune in the E-Botd-Z and then fill it with Ohms.

the exile is a nice idea... guess i have enough mf allready, id go for the exile !!
or how about eth bonehew with 8 sockets; "merc beats lvl 99 barb" :grin:

A few Lo runes would be more useful, placing to above Eth DCleaver...

A BotD is a 6 socket weapon. It already has things in 6 sockets. If you put 2 more sockets in it to bring it to the max of 8, it will only have TWO empty sockets. Thus, you could have BotD + 40/15 + 40/15.

I would likely make a 4 socket Shako, and an 8 socket HoZ. That's just sickening though...

Fill the Shako with Jah runes. ^^

id do 8 socket hoz and put in ber/Lo/Lo/vex/vex/vex/3*psapphire, and get shako as well and put in 1 ber 3 jah/3 um's
