Out of these bands, who's your favorite?
I don't really plan on adding any more, so just pick one from this list, please. :D
Since my original choice isn't up there, I'll just pick Floyd.
The beatles.
Eagles teh PWN!
Led Zeppelin, but I'll listen to any of them. What you need up their is some Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughn. And maybe some Bob Dylan and Van Morisson, too.

I think they all suck. The Strokes
And that's why you are Loser'd.. the inability to simply follow the flow of conversation at all, you are supposed to pick your favorite out of those, not out of anything else...
I put Floyd, because they are my favorite as of now... it was really hard between them and Led, although I wish Jimi Hendrix or Bob Marley were up there... |
Go Beatles! But like ^ said, if Bob Marley, or Ziggy Marley were up there, that's who I would have voted for.
Bob Marley isn't rock though :p But yeah, he was fucking awesome.
Gunbound, I honestly don't know how you could think any of them suck. All of the ones listed were/are obviously very talented. |
Yeah gun, how can you say that the Beatles suck? They were one of, if not THE, greatest band of all time.
I've never really listened to The "Strokes" (funny name), so I can't exactly judge them.
IMO, though, most the older bands are way better than most of the newer ones. Much more talented, too. |
I think that Metallica, Queen, and Black Sabbath should be up there as well, personally. :T
Ozzy was in Black Sabbath
I know, but that piece of information had eluded me at the time that I wrote that post. My mind had gone blank. But for you, I'll fix it.
The beatles, but the eagles are pretty good.
Woulda picked the wiggles but it's not there. |

I also picked the Beatles, but I listen to all of them, obviously.
Led Zepplin hands down. Pink Floyd next. Eagles are good as well. As for the rest of them, I don't listen to them too much.
Gah... I know how supposedly Godly the Beatles are, but I have never bothered to listen... what's there good shit? I have obviously heard their most popular songs, almost everyone has... but do tell.
I put Black Sabbath. Pink Floyd and the Eagles are pretty good too.
I couldn't get into the Beatles. I don't like their style. |
Definitely Led Zeppelin, queen needs to be up there too.
I dont really like any of them, but if I have to choose it would be The Beatles.
:edit: oh damn I totally forgot the rolling stones - painted black that song is fucking awesome ;) |
Where's AC/DC? Also, The Beetles are just British. 'nough said.

Oh, and the Beatles are way more than "just British". |

The Beatles suck balls. I don't care how many people they influenced or how many records they sold. They were the original "boy band", and as such, they are an insult to all that is good and holy.
I appreciate and respect Zepplin, the Stones and the Eagles, but I could never get into their music. Floyd, Skynyrd and Sabbath are three of the greatest bands ever concieved. However, I didn't get into music until I was about 12 or 13, and one of the first bands I was ever introduced to was Guns n' Roses. So, by way of nostalgic memory, I'm going with GNR. If you had placed Alice Cooper on the list, though, he would have been my immediate first choice. Alice was my introduction to the world of music, and he is simply the greatest musician to have ever existed, in my opinion. Long live the Coop! |
Fine. Guns n' Roses.. Still think AC/DC and Motley Crue should be up there.
It matters not whether you win or lose; what matters is whether I win or lose.

IMO, I don't think you should go as far as saying they suck. Everybody won't like the same music, just like there isn't one person that looks exactly the same as another person, and just like there isn't one career that everyone is good at. Quote:

My opinion is that they suck. I'm not saying anyone has to agree with me, I'm just stating what I think. I can't listen to the Beatles without wanting to pull my hair out, and in my book, that constitutes "suckage".
Well, in my opinion, they're a way lot better than those bands that just scream into the mic proclaiming that they hate the world and will eventually kill themselves.
And in my opinion, if that's all you think death metal equates to, you've got a lot to learn.
Considering Zepplin is my favorite band, I'd have to go with that. If these are you top favorites, NGM, you have good taste.

And Raziel, I wasn't talking about death metal. Hell, I've never even heard death metal before, so I won't judge it. Yep, I've got a lot to learn. Sorry. |
Then what kind of music were you talking about?
Now that you've brought it up, isn't "death" metal just music which rages mindless hate against the world? Why don't they just call themselves heavy metal?
I'd have to go with Guns n Roses. They play them all the time at my football games.

To label all death metal as being "hateful" is pretty narrow-minded. Granted, there are plenty of death metal bands that write about murder, violence and atrocity. But the best ones rarely do, or if they do, they write it in such a context that the message is deeper than just a story about death. The term "death metal" describes a style of music, not a style of message. Death metal bands are defined by the music, not the lyrics. |

You see, I pretty much like all music besides country and rap (RUN DMC and some 80's rap is all right though). The reason I like all these bands is because they're all different. The Beatles and Led Zeppelin were good because none of their songs sounded the same. The Beatles, in my opinion, are somewhat different than Led Zeppelin and metal bands, but this is why I like them. They were very talented and their British accent made their music distinct. Some people will like them, some won't, but it's a fact that a lot of people do enjoy listening to them. (Over 30 #1 singles, around 165 million records sold which is a world record, 75 million people watched them when they were on the Ed Sullivan Show. The list could go on and on.) I know I can't just make you appreciate them, so I'm just going to stop here, but I do have a question. Out of all the Death Metal bands that you've listened to, which one is your favorite and why? I'll try to pick up a CD. |
