Final Fantasy or Chrono Series?

Most definately for me it's the FF series. Chrono just never apealed to me. I don't know why. I just like FF 10X more than I like Chrono.

I like Chrono Trigger more.If there was a new game+ in ff games then they probably would be better.

Chrono trigger is a pretty good game considering the fact it is old. chrono cross not as good. FF's were abit above chrono and still are.

the way you said that it seems like you don't like old games much. You have to admit some of the ff games are below Chrono Trigger.

Tyrannicide 2004-02-21 08:47 AM

umm, er a doh. Yea some of the ff games did suck *coughff8* yup.

Chruser 2004-02-21 09:22 AM

What's the Chrono Cross difference from Chrono Trigger, story-line-wise?

!King_Amazon! 2004-02-21 10:37 AM

Chrono Cross takes place after Chrono Trigger(I guess you could say, although with all the time slipping I dunno really.)

Really, I don't know why we've got to choose between either of them. I can play any of them whenever I want. I like them both.

Chruser 2004-02-21 12:51 PM

I absolutely loved Chrono Trigger. It's one of my favourite games to date. The snow world was an especially nice touch. Is Chrono Cross equally nice in a lot of ways, or... Well, what differs?

!King_Amazon! 2004-02-21 01:14 PM

It doesn't have the same feel as Chrono Trigger. I myself only got it because I thought it would be like Chrono Trigger, but it's really different.

Raziel 2004-02-21 11:51 PM

Chruser, Chrono Cross is amazing. The story is brilliantly written, the art direction is phenomenal and it's just a blast to play. I'd highly recommend picking it up.

Kuja`s #1 2004-02-21 11:54 PM

I got it packaged with FFIV when I rented it. I didn't see the greatness about it. But that's just the way some people are.

!King_Amazon! 2004-02-22 06:04 AM

When I started playing it I was expecting more than I got right off the bat. That's probably why I didn't like it.

Rurouni Storm 2004-02-22 09:06 PM

Chrono Trigger was the best RPG on the SNES, but FF7 and 9 were far better than Chrono Cross (not that is wasn't a bad game).

Hmm, I'd go towards FF just because there's more games and more variety due to that.

!King_Amazon! 2004-02-23 09:59 AM

I'm torn between Chrono Trigger and Secret of Evermore as best RPG on SNES.

I never could find my way in Secret of Evermore when I played it.I played Chrono Trigger a lot so I like it more.

Tyrannicide 2004-02-24 04:06 PM

yea, chrono trigger is still an awsome game. But their r games that r a lot worse and a bit better then. I never really noticed but in Chrono Trigger is there a lot of crappy translations in it like FFVII?? Cause FFVII was translated by bi-lingul Japanese English people and published by SONY so the text never got edited properly.

Rurouni Storm 2004-02-24 08:49 PM

I haven't noticed any particularly bad translations in CT.

!King_Amazon! 2004-02-25 03:57 PM

I didn't either, at least not as bad as FFVII.

Raziel 2004-02-26 04:42 AM

The translation in CT is nearly flawless. I'm sure that there might be one or two mistakes, though.

There was no excuse for FF7 having such an awful translation. FF6 came out three years prior and the translation was phenomenal. Just another reason why FF7 is most certainly not the "greatest game ever made," like so many Sephiroth-addicts want you to believe.

I do think Final Fantasy 7 is one of the greatest games ever made but I am not a Sephiroth addict.

Tyrannicide 2004-03-23 01:30 PM

And like I said in my post, there is a reason, if a english person(first language) went through the game after it was translated the first time, they would have found all the crappy translations and they would have been fixed, but that never happened. The game was also pushed to be released, they didn't want to hold it back.

Dan XIII 2004-03-23 01:50 PM

They knew the game would be the best if it was translated properly so they gave it a crappy translation to give the other games a chance.

Tyrannicide 2004-03-23 06:32 PM

yea, sure they did Dan. It was like I said earlier. But either way it turned out excellent.

Pimpiroth 2004-03-23 07:34 PM

hmm i wonder

hmm that is tough to decide between two great franchises that square owns. I would like to see a new chrono series game come out. Square had been bringing out plenty of games in the Final Fantasy series but hasnt brought out a chrono series game since Chrono Cross which is kinda old(2000). Maybe Squarenix will surprise us with something new in the crono series sometime soon and it will be great. ;)

Dan XIII 2004-03-23 07:56 PM

You are probably right Matt.

Tyrannicide 2004-03-24 04:45 PM

why would u need to post a reply to such a short post by ur bro???
There is supposely another Chrono game called 'chrono break' or 'chrono brake'. something like that. but its just a rumor.
