Uhh can one of you type an example of a battle post someone might type out, so we know what we are exactly doing. I had no idea how to start the post or what it would look like. Since this thread is locked just add it to one of your posts or ignore me if you want :) and delete my post when you are done.

Post any kind of argument you want, dude. You could just simply give reasons for why you think a particular character would win, or you can can give a play by play of how you think the match would go.

If I were to argue a for a particular character I would explain each of the characters skills, of course downsizing the one's I don't want to win, then explain how the character whom I want to win couldn't possibly be defeated by their opponents abilities.

Look back at the Battle between Sephiroth and Raziel to get some ideas. There were some good points and counters in there if I remember correctly.

I'm starting to get pissed off at the level on inactivity with this ting. It's a really good idea and nobody seems to notice it or care enough to post. If you look, me and uncapped are the only ones to post for the Snake vs. Rikimaru so far, sure 8 people have voted, but no one is posting. Are these people just too lazy to give reasons for their votes? I sure hope not.

I would be all about posting, but I need to be an imparital judge on the situation. :(

The problem is that...not every members are familiar with all the characters. For instance, I used to play Tenchu, but I'm not a big fan of Metal Gear. I don't know much about Solid Snake at all. And some people might be the other way around.

Well, as the battles continue, I'm sure a more diverse style will be incorporated, one that enables the members to get more active.

I kinda want to put pictures of the characters in each thread as well, but right now, what is happening is fine. Add comments and suggestions here too people to better Zelaron Melee

I've started to do a little bit of research on the characters, right now I'm just posting pictures and brief descriptions but later on I'll start putting in fansites or official sites that have a lot of information on that character. Maybe I'll even post a ROM of any old games that contain certain characters people may not have heard of( if that's allowed, that is ).

Why are there no females in the game? Are they considered "too weak" and must be rescued, like princess Toadstool in SMB1? Lara Croft, Ayane from the Dead and Alive series, Oni and Samus are all pretty damn lethal. Maybe there is a female or two whose names I haven't heard of, and maybe this was all due to the suggesions' thread, but I'm just curious about this anyway.

We just picked from the Character Suggestion Box. If there weren't enough suggestions, we would pick our own, but in this case, there were plenty of suggestions. What you see if what you get! :)

I have a question... Do we just post why we think the charecter would win, or is it like somone called that charecter and they are to battle, like an rpg.

You are supposed to post which character you think would win and give a thought-out and legitimate reason why you think this.

You could do both. Describe the character's abillities and such then describe(in a fan battle if you wish) how that person would use those abillities for victory.

Example:

Auron:
He has high strenth but low speed. His abillity Power Break could lower "whoever's" strength.


Battle
Auron stared at his foe. The "other guy" began to run at him. His power was so huge, he would bash Auron's head in. Auron used Power Break and with it the "other guy's" strength was lowered helping Auron throw off his attack.

Got it?

I think I'm going to "roleplay" the characters from now on, and narrarate the the battle. That'll be fun.

That's one fashion that a lot of people tend to adopt in character battles. Definitely an entertaining method.

How do you get credits in the arena?

You need to read the rulebook, dude. It's about two threads beloe this one. It says "Zelaron Melee Rulebook!!!" This isn't an RPG arena. There are no credits.

Say Kazuya Mishima gets in. Will he have the ability to transform into Devil?

He'll have any and all abilities that he has access to in the games. The only exception would be if transforming into "Devil" was an endgame ability, like Samus' Hyper Beam or Raziel's Spirit Reaver.

No. It's just that you can choose to fight as just Devil or just as Kazuya in the game, so I figured it might not be allowed. He can't normally do it during the fights. He can only do it IN BATTLE in Tekken Tag if you have Kazuya and Devil paired up. Any other time, he does it in FMV scenes.

Then he has the option of choosing which form he wishes to take before his next battle. He'll have both forms available to him, he just won't be capable of changing in mid-fight.

okay i just read raziels rule-book a couple of times but there are some things i dont understand (blame my bad english, not raziel)

1: Is this a member vs member game ? can all members play it ?
2: Can i put any character into the fight ?? if so, ill take my hammerdin :grin:
2b: explain the voting pls, i dont understand shit of that part :confused:
3: will my bad english affect my score ? (ill really try to make it structured and readable)
4: When is the next tournament ?? or can i just challenge someone
5: Is this correct ?: you post some skill/attack your character has and maybe use the level enviroment (like jumpads etc) and then your enemy posts, then you again...

Ugh... alright..

1. There is nothing stating that this is a member vs. member structure. Once a battle is set up, any member can participate, and they can take any side they want.

2. No, you cannot put any character into a fight. A voting process is used to see what characters will be in the tournament, then either Raziel or myself pits them according to how they best match up at first and in the long run.

2b. Before a tournament starts, a voting process takes place. First, all the members vote on the genre of the tournament; Video Game Characters, Comic Book Characters, etc. Next, characters are elected from members that are in that particular genre that was previously voted upon. Then, a poll is formed with all the elected characters, and the top 16 are taken and put into the bracket, which has its own thread.

3. No, your English will not affect anything, as long as we can understand your points and arguements.

4. You cannot just challenge someone. Only Raziel or myself are entitled to make threads that start a battle. The next tournament will start after the current one ends.

5. You post whatever you think will give the person you think will win an edge.

5b. A battle ends after a certain amount of time or activity. It is a judgement call on Raziel or myself.

Well, in your case, it didn't matter because the two other judges already voted for the same people, which already gave them the 2/3 win, regardless of your vote. It just happened that now that you finally voted, it gave them a 3/3 win, not the 2/3 win.
