Top Five Movies of All Time

My top five are these, in this order:

1) Braveheart
2) Usual Suspects
3) Gladiator
4) The Matrix
5) The Godfather (I)

Man, its hard though, being there are so many great movies...
Scarface, Goodfellas, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Clockwork Orange, The Shining, Casino, Seven, Boondock Saints, A Few Good Men, etc.

I know I'm probably going to edit my list every once in a while, because I'm positive I'm forgetting something big! I just have that feeling right now, it's a complete memory lapse....

Hades-Knight 2003-02-04 01:32 PM

1.Girls gone wild Doggy Style
2. Girls Gone wild Spring Break

jk =d

there are many movies ilike....depends on the type, like war, romance, adventure, fantasy sci fi etc

Thanatos 2003-02-04 02:21 PM

Fear and loathing in Las Vegas

Gladius 2003-02-04 05:50 PM

LoTR: Two Towers
LoTR: Fellowship

We were soldiers
Ahh crap can't think of any others at the time.

Well these are at least my favorites.

I don't think i can do top 5.....

1. Braveheart
2. Usual Suspects
3. Gladiator

5. The Matrix
6. Shawshenk Redemption
7. LoTR: TT
8. LoTR: Fellowship

Shit, I don't like that order either.... Its too hard. I'd definitely have to see them all again to put a definitive order to em.... But my numbers 1, 2, and 3 are without a doubt not going to change in my mind.

NonGayMan 2003-02-05 06:24 AM

Godfather was a good movie.

Titusfied 2003-02-05 06:27 AM

Only part I though.. THe others were decent, but the first one was bomb!

Jamesadin 2003-02-05 06:54 AM

Blazing Saddles! Hahahahaha

That is one of the best movies ever made.

"Ok there, just calm down.. its just a man and his horse being hung"
*Sings lullaby*

Titusfied 2003-02-05 06:56 AM

"Sir, I think we got quicksand up ahead!"

"Oh, well, send a nigger to check it out."

"A nigger? Why not a horse?"

"A HORSE!! You crazy, they cost money! I said send a nigger!"

Well, not exactly that, but something vaguely along those lines....

Jamesadin 2003-02-05 02:56 PM

"Why dont we just send a pushcart?"

"Pushcart?!? Those cost $300 each. Send a Nigger!"

JiN-RaiDeN 2003-02-05 02:58 PM

"The One" and "Pearl Harbor" should not see an all time anything list. The One? Are you fucking serious?

TreizePlus 2003-02-05 04:02 PM

Pi, Blade Runner, Pulp Fiction, The Usual Suspects, The Two Towers, Hard Boiled, Locked Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, Seven Samurai, Unbreakable, Donnie Darko...they change allll the time, I never have a set list.

Strider Fury 2003-02-05 05:15 PM

The Rock was a pretty cool movie. =/

Titusfied 2003-02-06 06:29 AM

Yeah, The One and Pearl Harbor (Fucking stupid ass chick flick) definitely don't deserve to be on this list, IMHO.

Neither does Unbreakable and Pi for that matter. Pi was a really cool movie, but come on, we are talking about CLASSICS here. That movie hasn't even been heard of by a majority of the people in the world... If there was a second rate all time list, that would definitely be up there, if not number 1!

BTW, would you consider Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels a second rate movie, or B caliber flick? I don't know the technical terminology for those types of movies, but I think you get my drift.

Good choice with Snatch BTW, that was cool too!

Lock Stock was just never big in America, I think they only released in on like 5 screens here in the US, so if anything I would say second rate. In the UK I'm sure it was released on plenty of screens. I guess Ritchie realized he had a market in the US which explains Snatch. I would list some classics, but its hard to really compare older films to new ones. The Seventh Seal, Ran, Metropolis, Citizen Kane all would rank somewhere in there, but its hard to make a list that includes both classic and modern films.

Titusfied 2003-02-06 11:48 AM

Yeah, which is why a top 100 of all time list would probably be more feasible than top 5.... The order would differ from most person to person, but the jist would still be in tact IMO.

Silverjinx18 2003-02-07 11:06 PM

1. Braveheart or LOTR(in general...yes it can count as one movie... I can't choose which would be first :( ).
2. Shakespear in Love
3. Ace Vantura
4.Liar Liar
5.Gladiator
6.The Patriot
7.Batman2
8.Batman1
9.Spiderman
10.Pearl Harbor

I love Die Hard as well, but I couldn't pick a favorite one...

Strider Fury 2003-02-08 03:12 PM

whatever the hell happened to Armageddon?

The Patriot is a Braveheart wannabe, and Batman just plain sucked.

Silverjinx18 2003-02-08 10:45 PM

doh...I forgot about armageddon!! ... The Patriot isn't a Braveheart wanna be...just because they both have Mel Gibbson and war in it doesn't mean they're the same...and Batman was the first movie I ever remember watching and has Michele Keaton in it...

kickyanads 2003-02-09 08:54 AM

1)half baked
2)godfather
3)ferris buellers day off
4)bill and teds bogus journey (the WORST movie ever gets props here)
5)ALL CLASSIC BOND MOVIES(live and let die, man with golden gun, for your eyes only)

Thanatos 2003-02-10 02:06 PM

The Patriot was a good movie.

But, I'm going to have to add K-PAX. You guys should definetely see this movie, and if you haven't, shame on you!

Then you'd like the TV show, 24. Greatest show ever.

EX-Mania 2003-02-11 02:23 PM

1: Requiem for a Dream
2: Cheech and Chong series
3: Pi (real name of the movie is ð but Pi is what it is called in letters.)
4: Gladiator
5: Pearl Harbor

Strider Fury 2003-02-11 04:45 PM

The Ring was a pretty good movie. by that I mean the original Japanese version, not the Hollywood rip-off.

The Truman Show.

Medieval Bob 2003-02-12 06:17 AM

I'm not going to rank any, just put them down as I think of them.

Braveheart (I actually stood up and yelled "They will never take.. Our FREEDOM!" when they were trying to calm the studends at a pep rally lol. Pep rallys are lame.)
Snatch ("Heavy is reliable. If it does not work, you can always hit him with it.")
The Princess Bride
Office Space (Damn it feels good to be a gangsta)
Super Troopers

Thanatos 2003-02-12 02:00 PM

Zing!! Somebody else has heard of The Princess Bride, great book/movie. I can't find the sequel, though.

Silverjinx18 2003-02-12 10:01 PM

there's a sequel? oh damn...yeah I own it and if i want to watch a movie when bob's over we usually have to watch that...:(

Medieval Bob 2003-02-13 05:56 AM

Because she doesn't have Snatch, Super Troopers, Braveheart, or Office Space. " 'ello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You kill' my father. Prepare to die."
