Apart from the above, there has been no attempt at thingy...communication between us all apart from on here...may be good in some aspects, but we are all on at different times so...

its nice to see someone noticed this we do need to find more adequate ways of communication

Lenny 2005-03-08 02:54 PM

Not to dis you or anything, but I thought a halfling was a short person. Half the size of a normal person. At least that's what it is according to D&D. Maybe you are going by something else?

Anyways, I haven't finished the pics for the sprite of that one guy. I am also going to be on less due to me learning 3 new languages. Those are Japanese, C++, and HTML. Okay so the last 2 aren't actually spoken, but they are very important in the new world of technology. Japanese has always interested me since I started watching DBZ on Saturdays at about 10-11 way back in like 97 I think. Way back when Raditz first landed. LOL, ever since then, I have been fascinated.

By the way, Aurvian, nice picture. And just a quick question, is his body facing away from us, and his head is facing us? One more thing, I like the way you left the sketch lines in the pic. I do the samething unless it is a copy I plan on doing something important with. It gives it that "classic artistic" look. Very professional.

EDIT: My timezone is Pacific, I believe. The time of this edit/post is 12:09 over here. I don't have anything to chat with, so I am S.O.L there. :(

Lenny 2005-03-09 01:21 PM

12:09 AM or PM???

At the mo it is...8:20 PM here...

Aurvian 2005-03-10 03:35 PM

Imma go to my friends house later and load the other pics I left my jump at home so... yea. draco your right, Nick is looking to the side and we have a viewpoint from behind him. Yo, you gotta let me see some of your work.

(Im behind you by five hours it says you posted it at 3pm my timezone, if u can get on at 1-2 my time or 6-7 your time then we can talk on AIM)

Wed-G 2005-03-10 04:57 PM

nice nice, yall* gotta love texas.

Yeh. I had to restart the game pro. cuz it lagged way to much. But now the engine is staight-clean and runs smooth.

Little info:

1(numpad) and 3(numpad) makes the on screen menu (menu, journal, save, ??) selector move. .(numpad) selects the menu item.

but for now I can't access my comp because of some electricity thing... anyway, I am central u.s. time. yeah. My yahoo name is wed_g2004 so if you want to message me, feel free... it is 6:00 here.

Lenny 2005-03-11 06:57 AM

So, time lists:

Me - GMT
Aurvian - GMT -5
Draco - Either GMT +6, or GMT -6...
Wed - Again, either GMT +6, or GMT -6...

I'm guessing that both Draco and Wed are 6 hours behind GMT...I can't be sure though...

Lenny 2005-03-13 05:42 AM

I've got good news and, of course, bad news for you all...

Good news. Tomorrow, I'm getting my computer back...with a floppy drive that works!!! :D:D:D

Bad news. My mum has got it into her head that I spend too much time on this computer (with the only internet access in the house), as is banning me from it for a week or so...:(:(:(

So, it looks like you've all gotta wait another week for my little thingy...sorry...

I think we are just a four-man team. we can still do it.

Anyway, a rundown on the engine. and I'm serious... this is all working systems.

The base engine is an on-screen menu 1(numpad) move the cursor left 3(numpad) move the cursor right. 0(numpad) is the selector(changed during debug the other day.) the icons to select range from menu(CMS), diary(won't be completed until the game is completed[due to vast amount of entries]), and save game.

It has a day-might system with a light-range system, depending on if you are inside or out. and a time system 1 minute is and hour game time.

and the menu system is alot better.

Lenny 2005-03-15 01:45 PM

Is it possible for us to have screenshots???

----------

I'm a gonna do the good news bad news routine again.

Good news. I'm still banned from the comp for a week. So I'm not allowed to go anywhere near it...naturally I am able to have max of an hour per day on it...:p

Bad news. No computer with fixed floppy. Haven't got it back yet...:(

Aurvian 2005-03-17 07:26 PM

Well besides this one Imma start one using 2k3 and experment with the scripting in xp... I think its kind of better game wise... I'll still work on this project aswell its just taking to long... o yea there is a way to put xp games online you just need a good server tho so it wont lag i think.. or use lan

It's because none of us are actually communicating properly...and the fact that only a few of us are regular users, well...

----------

Right, good news, good news routine for the last time:

Good news: Last day of my ban today! YAY!!!!!!!

Good news: I'm am definately getting my computer back today, with a fixed floppy drive. So by Tuesday, you will have what I've written so far! And that's a promise...

Aurvian 2005-03-21 09:46 AM

I want to say I have created a cool looking logo for us while messing with 2k3 and xp, i forgot to load it up so ill show it tomorrow at around 1pm eastern.

Imma hopefully get a new job this weeks so I can get my internet back... until then I'll just communicate through campus computers. Also I e-mailed tyrannicide to see if he is still helping... so we might be a five man team..

After messing with XP for awhile im think we should go to it most of its bugs can be fixed with the use of scripting. I've been playing with it seems easy plus if you have an error it tells you the exact line where it is present so...

your prob right I havent played buldersgate in awhile and I dont paly D&D (imma prob start since I want to have making games as a major)

Lenny 2005-03-21 10:02 AM

Wed said that...not me...:p...
Edit:
You beat me to it...:p

If we're gonna use XP, then we won't be able to have little cut-scenes...rm2k3 is by far the better (compared to XP), so I say we use that...it got the better battle system as well so...

----------

Aiiee...you edit your post too much, I gotta edit mine all over again now...:p...in LOTR (book version) I seem to remember our Ent friend calling the hobbits halflings...so...
