I finished Half-Life 2: Episode 2 earlier tonight. Brilliant ending! Well, penultimate chapter. The last one ended on too much of a cliffhanger.

Now where's Episode 3? Valve promised it for December 2007!! :rolleyes:

Chrono Cross and Drake's Fortune

Oooh! You bought a PS3, then? What about the 360?

And I've got to ask, before I buy it myself, what's your opinion on Drake's Fortune? I liked the demo, and I love the look of the game, and I'm sure I'll enjoy it, but I'm still thinking about whether I want to buy it or not.

Didn't buy the PS3, actually. I've been pet sitting for a friend who happens to own one.
The game is pretty awesome. Targeting can be kind of iffy sometimes, but that seems to add to the haphazard hero feel. It looks amazing. From what I understand, though, it is pretty short (10 hours or so).

I started playing Uncharted yesterday. So far I've got up to just after the demo ends (about fifteen minutes further) and I'm loving it. The story has still to kick in fully (though there has been quite a bit of it), the scenery is breath-taking, and the graphics are even better than the demo.

I'm loving it!

I'm starting to think I'm the only who plays games, too!

Just started Final Fantasy VII.

I'm still playing Chrono Cross. Haven't finished yet. Maybe today.

FFVII seems to be on hold for the moment.

And I'm playing FFXII, and Half-Life: Source.

Dabbling in FFXII, but I just picked up some more classic fare - Grim Fandango and Deus Ex for the PC and the Sega Genesis Collection for the PS2 (which includes Phantasy Star II - IV).

Did finish Chrono Cross, by the way.

Deus Ex is still awesome after all these years.

Haven't installed it yet, but I'm really looking forward to it.

Radiata Stories for PS2. Good but not fantastic. I'm getting kind of tired of hating RPG protagonists.

Yikes! Thanks for the warning. I might just hold off until I get a PS3, then. Exactly how common is this?

Both systems have their problems - freezing issues, mostly - but I've not read of any PS3 owners who have had a console bricked by the game. If it does freeze, they just restart it and carry on.

To be honest, I think it's pot luck. I've been talking to a few 360 owners today who got the game last night, and they managed to play for a couple of hours before they went to bed, with no problems (well, a few framerate issues with the opening cutscenes, but that's about it).

You may be unlucky, you may not be.

Bricking sucks, though I've never seen it for myself, I just know it sucks.

I honestly don't know if it's worth the risk of killing my 360.

That's so gay. Why would Microsoft release such a faulty product?

I haven't had any problems with my 360, though. I've had it since maybe January? I play it pretty much everyday without any errors.

I have had the red ring of death before, but Microsoft and Best Buy have been good to me.


Playing Halo 3 and loving the new maps

Just bought the new maps last night. Haven't played Avalanche yet, but I really love Ghost Town. And I guess Blackout is a Halo 2 re-make? I never played Halo 2 so I'm kinda getting used to that.

Other than that, the menu for PlayOnline is hands-down, the best and most captivating design ever. The music and subtle effects as well as the animated background is almost mesmerizing.

In the past two weeks, I've been up till 6am playing Fallout 3 for the vast majority of the nights. 10 out of 14. I have a problem.

Nice! Sounds just like my X-COM, Alpha Centauri, Chrono Trigger, Fallout 2, Baldur's Gate I, Baldur's Gate II, Morrowind, Diablo II, Deus Ex and Dwarf Fortress days. How is it, compared to Fallout 2?
