It matters not whether you win or lose; what matters is whether I win or lose.

NonGayMan 2004-08-04 09:33 PM

Am I the only one who blissfully laughs when foreigners cannot type English properly? Have I lost my marbles?

Penguin 2004-08-04 09:38 PM

When I reply to things like this, I give the poster a bit of credit. I think they have logic and know what goes on. Slim, I would honestly think and Hope you would at least get a HINT That he does Not like it and he wants you to stop meaning it Is offending him in some way. If you want to argue with me about this fine but I know I can give you credit for knowing at least that much. Just look at his replies. There is no reason for someone to keep up the insults, when they have already made their point. You said yourself you would cool down if you knew it was offending him, that at least shows you care a little. So from that I think this argument is more of the challenge authority, let me say what I want and that you might actually think the mocking of geekster can stop for a while if hes offended.

From what I was under the impression of earlier from previous posts I did not at all get this feeling. Why does it have to be a PM, you cannot honestly tell me his posts do not tell you that he is probably offended because again I am giving you credit for at least that much?

I do too sometimes but thats really not the point here =/ Its kinda beyond that now.

Slim 2004-08-04 09:41 PM

I've already said that if it's bothering him that much, a simple PM would lax the comments, the fact that he hasn't taken the innitiative to do it just (to me) says that it's not bothering him as much as you think it does. I may be wrong but that's just the way I'm seeing it.

Penguin 2004-08-04 09:45 PM

*see above* but again like shinto at least your being more reasonable then before about this. This can now be just a simple misunderstanding or midjudgement as to whether he is offended or not. But from his replies in this thread and others and the main reason hes probably going to be posting less, camon, you know that hes at least offended a bit. Honestly, look at it, you know he is. A PM would just further what I and you should already suspect.

I have now been doing/watching this thread for... 2 hours....

Slim 2004-08-04 09:47 PM

Well, NGM, it's funny for awhile, but after seeing so many posts it starts tweaking my nerves. It's not just me either.

People are different in private than in public, Penguin. In private people take things more seriously. PM is the perfect medium to express to someone that you're going too far. I've settled a couple beefs here through PM, as well as other places.

At one point I despised Sovereign, but now I actually talk to him quite frequently. Same goes for Vollstrecker, though I don't talk to him near as much.

Penguin 2004-08-04 09:51 PM

Ok well Geekster may not have known your policy of a PM to have it stop. But he has tried to tell you and everyone else through his replies; I know you have picked up on it because its obvious. Thats part of what sparked this for me anyway, I saw that in his replies and I was pretty sure you guys saw it too but were just ignoring it.

I hate to make this whole thing so... geekster specific because we keep going in and out of general statements and then specific ones to this case when this in fact does and will happen a lot more then just this incident with geekster and all of this applies to those times as well, not just this one.

Slim 2004-08-04 09:52 PM

The point I'm trying to make Penguin, is just chill out. You're acting like the nosey teacher that ticks people off for prying into matters that they have no business in (Admin or not, this is more personal than anything). Titus was ok about it, he basically said chill out. You're telling us "knock it off or I'll ban you", though putting it a bit more eloquently

Penny_Bags 2004-08-04 09:55 PM

Time to be serious, for once.

I think it is very fun and entertaining to jokingly insult other members. If it is at their expense, they should just let it slide, in my opinion. However, when someone like Geekstar gets made fun of for having bad English when it isn't his first language, I do see where certain people should allow for some leeway. It is a little ridiculous to bash someone who is pleaing for you to stop. Kagom can take it, we all know that. I am sure he gets a little annoyed, but he's not gonna go kill himself. However, toying with individuals who are just sort of coming around on Zelaron isn't cool. As "Senior Members"... or just fucking decent people, we have the responsibility to care for the feelings of other people, as shitty and homosexual that sounds. Trust me, I am straight, I ate a 20 oz. steak for dinner.

In all honesty guys, just tone it down, being an asshole is fun, when it is creative. Saying "Oh my God this guy is a fucking IMBECILE" right in his eye, not very cool.

....................shit where the fuck is my saracstic tag.

...............Just kidding, I am actually being serious.

Penguin 2004-08-04 10:02 PM

I understand but it is my business if its affecting the forum. Titus didn't stop the comments if you check and I saw what Titus said and understand it. You are telling me to chill out and I am telling you guys to chill out. Everyone needs to chill out. I wouldn't of needed to chill out though if you guys would have chilled out first (titus post) -_-

Listen we have both argued our points and I am still trying to remain sorta neutral and look at it from both sides and we can both see that after all this we have got a lot out and posted. Can we just mutually agree that we just all need to chill out a bit and in the future try to think a little bit more before posting something?

Slim 2004-08-04 10:05 PM

Yeah, after two hours it's getting a bit more like a chore than anything.

Penny_Bags 2004-08-04 10:07 PM

Great, let's all agree, and after that mod me.... fuck that... Owner me.

Shining Knights 2004-08-04 10:21 PM

Grav 2004-08-04 10:23 PM

I didn't bother to read all of that long winded blah, but I'm right.

P.S. Shinto, stop acting like a slaynish.

Penny_Bags 2004-08-04 10:27 PM

Shinto, silence.

Well, see ya when I can Geekstar.

Dr. Geekstar 2004-08-05 04:22 AM

I just read the whole thread (was playing tennis for an hour, after i woke up)

I don't really care if people laugh at me and joke about my english and that stuff. But if i fight back i probably get loser'd again or people get mad again because i flamed/insulted them. Ruining my/kagom's threads (the story-game) isnt funny too, it took me like 30 minutes to make up the rules, post the story etc.

The main reason why i wont post that much in future IS because some people don't like it.... or you think im going to be playing tennis whole days ??

And whats the point in PM'ing everyone the same thing

thanks to pinguin for explaining the whole thing. (im not planning to leave zelaron, im having fun... most of the time)

edit: ill be back in 30-60 minutes
edit2: back
