Aww, killing peoples' dreams :P.

School: 3rd Year University
Degree: Film Production Graduation: 2011 |
I'm going to start taking classes through computertraining.com starting this Saturday.
Within 90 days after my graduation date they're required to find me a job. Looks like I'll be starting my career soon. |
That's excellent. I've been thinking recently about trying to speed up my education process, might be taking a bunch of online courses starting January on top of the 5 classes on campus.
Yeah man.. there's really no backing away from this as it's going to cost me a LOT of money. But the cool thing about it is, it's only a 6 month class and after I've graduated I'll be Microsoft Certifed in 4 different fields. That = instant job.
What actual certifications are you going to receive?
If all goes well the MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist), MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional), and MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator). It looks like I'll be working with Vista, which I've never even used before. Watch, by the time I'm done with this stuff Vista will be old news.
Lucky. I need to get some movie theater job or another.
If the course is longer than two years, then yeah, we'll be past Vista... though you'll probably have a couple of years with it still as a number of people won't migrate to Windows 7. Saying that, though, early impressions seem to make out that Windows 7 is very similar to Vista, so any skills you learn should be transferable.
So what are they going to find you a job doing?
More than likely I'll start out at a Helpdesk somewhere, but it's incredibly easy to advance once you get a year or two of experience under your belt. Entry level positions make anywhere from 35k - 45k.
