Pappenheimer refers to a man called Gottfried Heinrich Graf zu Pappenheim, he was a general I believe, for the Holy Roman Empire. He fought in the Thirty-Years War, along with lots of other guys - including the Swedes. My knowledge on this has been disremembered and fragmented by the year(s) at this art school. In swedish the phrase is "Känn din Pappenheimer", I cannot really explain the meaning - possibly due to poor language skills or something... But I do have this quote I found on wikipedia (also he was a field marshal). Here is the quote:

@King Amazon: Thank you for changing your avatar, I can now browse this forums without fear of sanity loss (1d6/1d20). Also, on the subject of Adolf Hitler - my interest in him is not as an historian. |

ARGH MY EYES, THE GOGGLES DO NOTHING!
@Lenny: Because Hitler fucking rocks! The New Adventures of Hitler, part 2. He is also interesting as a person who in the eyes of many people personifies "evil", a concept which I find interesting. EDIT: Psychrophile |
Big words aren't cool. Learn to use under 8 letters otherwise I'll get scared.

Why do you dislike his avatar so much?

Seriously, it looks like a pussy. If that's "disturbing" or "ugly" or "scary" or "stupid" to you, you're probably gay. It looks like a pussy. Get over it. |
I still reckon it looks like a strange white dog screwing up it's eyes.
|
It only sort of looks like a pussy. Just looks like a mishapen flower to me.

BUT IT'S SO REVOLTING!!!!
ahh!!!! |
I like it. *shrug*

It's more that it looks like some sort of Lovecraftian horror. Also, it is too white for the orchidness to be really clearly visible.

Oooooh! Another one who has heard of Lovecraft, and probably the first to admit to reading it. :p
Do you read other Fantasy books, as well? In fact, what's the main genre you read? |
I guess I mostly read horror/fantasy. Although, I try to read all sorts of books, it's just that I became interested in first Lovecraft and then Stephen King so I've read lot's of their works. Thus, I guess they tint the scale. Right now I'm in the middle of a project to read "classics", just read Catcher in the Rye and I'm beginning on Ulysses.
Books = Power = ???? = Profit. Or random. Also, maybe I should try to post in other threads than my introduction-thread. But this forum is to big, and I am Lazyness, Destroyer of Worlds. |
If you don't post in another thread by tomorrow I'll ban you.
|
Well if that's not incentive to post, I don't know what is.
